About Minnie
Hi! I'm Minnie and I'm looking for a new family to call my own.
APPLICATION PROCESS APPLIES FOR Minnie
PLEASE COMPLETE THE BELOW APPLICATION FORM
https://forms.gle/C1G1bUJkrm3r6BJUA
NOTE: You are unable to meet Minnie until/unless you have been notified that you are a successful applicant. An adoption cannot be approved unless you are able to come to the shelter to meet Minnie in person and bring any dogs you currently have with you.
What I need in my new home:
• BREED KNOWLEDGE IS PREFERRED
• I was born with a congenital eye condition and am 60-70% blind, I will require a family who will manage this as required
• Regular walks, trips to the park or beach, playtime in the backyard
• Further training with basic doggie manners
• To be allowed inside with my family and not left outside 24/7 with no interaction.
• I am extremely social with other dogs and have loved every one of them that I have met at the shelter. My previous owner did day however that I am possessive of my toys around other dogs so this is something to be mindful of if going to a home with another dog
• A cat may be ok with a slow introduction.
• Secure Fencing with no holes or gaps
• Lots of toys and mental stimulation
• A family who promises to keep me well-groomed and brush me regularly so I'm always looking and feeling my best
• Lots of love and attention
• No young children due to my lack of vision and having the potential to being less tolerant of them
• I LOVE water and would love to have my very own clam pool to laze around in.
• I appear to have trouble eating out of a normal bowl due to my long snoot so scatter feeding or
My best features:
• Full of character both inside & out
• Very playful, happy & loveable
• I can sit & shake hands
• I have had some basic obedience training and am a generally well-mannered girl
• I love attention and having snuggles with my humans
• I walk very well on lead
• Happy to hang out with other friendly dogs
• I LOVE toys!!
• I LOVE the water and love to frolic in my plastic clam shell pool
Where I need to improve / Training required:
• I LOVE my toys but if i think that you are going to take it I will grab it and run away. There is a possibility that in a home I may become possessive of favourite toys. Further training & desensitization around this if the problem arises is recommended
Medical notes
Minnie has a condition called Pannus in both eyes which has resulted in 60% blindness. Minnie will require ongoing eye medication to help prevent/prolong complete blindness.
