Meet Wilder,
Wilder is a gentle soul with a soft heart and an even softer coat. He’s best suited to a calm and quiet home, where he can take his time to settle in and feel safe. Suitable for both first-time cat owners and those with experience, Wilder will thrive in an environment that understands his sensitive nature. Wilder has come such a long way since arriving at the shelter, and every day his confidence continues to grow. Watching him blossom has been a real treat — he’s a special boy with so much love to give.
He’s open to meeting kids aged 10 and up — older children are more likely to understand that loud noises can startle him and that patience is key when winning him over. Once Wilder feels comfortable, you’ll see his true personality bloom — friendly, happy, curious, playful, and wonderfully social.
Wilder adores pats (everywhere!) and will happily roll over to show you his fluffy belly once he feels safe — yes, belly rubs are welcome! He’s still learning that being picked up is okay, but his loud, rumbling purrs will tell you when he’s feeling completely content.
If you’re looking for a sweet, affectionate cat who just needs a little time to show how special he is, Wilder might be the one for you.
Wilder would not be suitable to live with dogs.
As for cats, Wilder came in with another cat, and he seems interested in making friends. We encourage anyone with existing cats to do a gradual and supervised introduction over a few days to ensure that both cats have the best chance of becoming friends.
We always encourage cats to be indoor cats. Wilder has already experienced living on the streets and he enjoys being inside where he feels safe. If he is outside, it will increase his chances of running away, getting lost, injured, or worse. As an inside cat he can live his best life possible. Wilder is also very scared of loud noises.
Wilder has mid-range energy levels and does like to play - he likes small plush toys or ping pong balls - any toys that make noise tend to startle him. He enjoys playing with toys but tends to prefer solo playtime, happily entertaining himself.
Wilder can be a little fussy with his food but he won't say no to a treat or two! Treats are the way to his heart!
Staff Comments: Wilder is a big love bug once you’ve earned his trust! He’s the kind of cat who wants all eyes — and hands — on him. Wilder loves being the centre of attention and would much prefer to have all the pats to himself. In fact, he even got a little jealous while we were typing this and tried to swat the keyboard for stealing his spotlight!

With all animals it’s important to understand that going into a new environment with new people may not be as flawless as we want it to be. It’s important to know that these animals have unknown histories. Most left in the shelter by their owners. The information we receive is from observing the animal’s behaviours & reactions to certain stimuli whilst in our care. Adopted animals can take up to 3 months to properly decompress from post-shelter life & a lot of behaviours & quirks will surface during this time. All that we ask is that their new owners have an open mind & are patient.
So please keep in touch with us after adoption so that we can help you settle your new family member in and address any unexpected behaviours.
The adoption fee for dogs covers C5 vaccination, health check, heartworm testing, desexing, micro-chipping, and registration.
