About Feather
For Feather, the best part of her foster home is all the cuddles. She knows that her charm and good looks will win over any human when she is in the mood for a cuddle, tummy rub or ear-scratch. Who can resist this elegant girl with a tuxedo coat, dapper white socks and big puppy eyes. She is not subtle about needing those cuddles and will gently head-butt or goose you so you get the message.
Feather loves her walks, usually 30 to 60 minutes twice a day. When she gets her walks she happy to settle and snooze for the rest of the day. On her walks, Feather loves to have a good sticky-beak at all the activity around her, enjoy the smells and say hello to those that stop to meet her.
Not much phases Feather on her walks, keeping calm with most traffic, passing cyclists and even barking dogs behind fences. She is comfortable meeting most dogs, happy to have a quick greeting and move on but she can get a bit excited at seeing off lead dogs though. Feather is more interested in the humans she can solicit pats from.
Feather is also a very happy passenger in the car and enjoys the ventures it takes her on. She might need some help getting in if the car is high as she is a smaller girl. Once in she settles quickly and may even take the opportunity to nap.
Feather is a friendly and engaging girl who has taken to pet life very quickly. She tends to stay on her own bed much of the day and is not too clingy. She will come to check in on her humans from time to time to get a little cuddle, let you know its dinner time or if she needs to pop out to do some business. She prefers a grassy area or garden bed to do her business or just wait for her walks..
Feather is an only dog in her home with her humans mostly working from home so it make take some adjustment being home alone for longer periods.
Feather is quiet in the home but will have some moments of play with her toys or a game with her humans. She had learnt to fetch a ball too.
Feather loves her food but has learnt to be polite and will wait for the signal she can eat. She is also getting the hang of stairs but going down is still a work in progress.
Feather is a charming confident girl who will adapt well into most homes.

Thinking about adopting?
We’d love to help you find your greyhound match!
To get started, we’ll ask for a bit of information about your home and lifestyle on our application form. This helps us make sure we match you with a dog that suits your household and sets both of you up for success.
Many greyhounds come from racing kennels where they’re used to having other dogs around. Some can struggle being left completely alone, which can lead to signs of separation anxiety like barking or chewing.
Because of this, we usually look to rehome greyhounds into homes where they’ll have company - either human or canine - and not be left alone for more than four hours on a regular basis. If that’s not your setup right now, don’t worry as we’re happy to chat about options such as dog walkers, doggy daycare, or taking your greyhound to work.
Our Adoption Checklist:
To be considered for adoption, we ask that you have:
A secure, fully fenced yard (minimum height around hip height)
A home where the dog is allowed to sleep inside at night
A routine that doesn’t leave the dog home alone regularly for long periods (more than 4 hours) without people or another dog for company
If you’re not sure whether you tick every box, please still apply! We’re happy to have a conversation and see if we have a greyhound who might be the right fit.
Please fill in as much detail as you can as there’s no word limit on any question.
