Bueno, in Spanish means “Good” and boy does he live up to his name!
His foster mum thinks with ears like that, he ought to receive signals from outer space.
Bueno is calm, gentle and a very smart boy who is so full of love. He is happy following you around the house watching your every move but will also give you some space by choosing to nap after a big walk or play. He has mastered the art of “puppy eyes” so it is almost impossible to say “No” to him.
Bueno is a happy easy-going boy who is extremely dog, kid and people friendly. He enjoys sleeping on his bed or on the floor (on a hot day) while his foster mum works from home. He loves playing fetch and is still learning how to bring the ball back all the way. He reckons he is helping his foster mum to get her steps up!
Bueno is a huge fan of car rides and enjoys looking out of the window. He travels extremely well and does not bark at cars or people passing by.
Bueno is a quick learner, good with routine, playful, energetic (with an ability to switch off as required), not aggressive and receptive to commands and your vibe. It is a huge positive that he hardly barks.
Although he is much bigger compared to the resident fur- sisters, he lives extremely well with them and doesn’t mind sharing. So far, he has successfully stayed home for a few hours with his resident fur-sisters and has shown no signs of destructive behaviour, anxiety or aggression.
He has shown no signs of food aggression or resource guarding and trusts his people. Some supervision (separate feeding areas, etc) at dinner time will be helpful if you are feeding multiple dogs at the same time.
Bueno would love to go to a home with another dog as being quite a young dog, he enjoys the company. A similar sized dog would be ideal, but not essential. As his energy levels are low to moderate, he would be happy with a medium sized backyard with regular exercise like beach walks, hiking trails, camping and all other adventures you could possibly think of. He has the potential to be a great off-lead dog.
He walks extremely well on lead which is a huge positive however, ongoing training with someone who handles him with confidence will be beneficial as he is quite intuitive. Being a quick learner, he is good with commands and to wait for his food and treats.
Bueno sleeps through the night in his bed (inside) and is toilet trained with free access to an outdoor area. Continued toilet training and training to use the doggy door will really help him to have a good mix of indoor and outdoor time. He is best suited for a home where he is included in activities, adventures, and everyday life as much as possible.
Dog savvy kids will be good for Bueno. Not tested with young children although he should be fine with them after sufficient training and supervision. He is very gentle.
