About Yarra
Please only apply for this greyhound if you have:
- Have a doggie companion or are home more than away
- Children over 8 years
- A grassed yard for zoomies
Yarra is a big smooch who loves attention and cuddling up on couch and being with you - she always wants to know where you are!
• Her greetings are excitable when you first come home. Yarra loves a pat and will happily sit and attempt to crawl into your lap or just nuzzle against you to get more pats.
• She gets very excited when you first pick up the lead, but once out walking she is fairly gentle and walks well on leash. She does pick up commands fast and has already learnt to "wait" on command at intersections and when jumping out of car.
• Yarra and her greyhound foster brother are walked daily at lunch time and they know the routine - as soon as it gets close to noon, they won't leave my side and the moment I get up from my desk it's walk time!
• Yarra is very friendly to all people on walks and to house guests as she is a very people-oriented dog.
• Yarra is well behaved around other dogs when we are out walking on lead even if they come up to fences as we walk past. She has had on-leash interactions with a small fluffy dog and behaves well under supervision.
• She loves squeaky toys and can get a fit of the zoomies, including chasing Cody around the yard
• Yarra travels well in the car and has no issues in busy environments we may visit.
• She could be solo dog if her family is home more than away or otherwise, she will need a doggie companion.
Are you looking for a smoochy companion?
[Note: Under Victorian Law greyhounds must be on-leash at all times in public areas, including in off-leash parks or ovals]
