About Polly
Let's introduce you to Polly - our beautiful terrier cross toy poodle - born 9th March, 2025 and now weighing in at about 6-7kg. She is more the size of a Miniature Poodle.
She has been raised on a farm with plenty of dogs and other animals to keep her company. She spends most of her day outside playing and exploring. She is quite the tomboy!
As such, Polly is NOT suited to apartment or townhouse living - she MUST have a backyard to run around in. It should be fully fenced, securely, so that she can play safely and run around. She loves her toys and is fond of water too.
She is still a puppy and is not house trained as she toilets on the grass at her home.
Polly would suit a small family, no children under the age of ten, or a single retired person or couple that have owned pups previously. She is very loving and will be very loyal, affectionate and will thrive in a loving home. Polly needs to be treated as part of the family and we would expect her to have a lifespan of around 12-15 years, so she will need someone fully committed to taking care of her for many years to come!
She has more poodle, than terrier, traits and will benefit from some grooming every 8-12 weeks. We have not had her clipped at this stage, so can't guarantee that she will like it!
Polly has a very sweet nature, no meanness in her little body, she is a real delight to be around. She is not a fussy eater, and would be quite happy to be the only dog in the home. She has only just been separated from her brother Royce - he was adopted yesterday, but she still has other dogs to run around with. Being a puppy still, she sleeps a lot during the day, has frequent naps - morning and afternoon. We would not like her to be left alone at home all day, so a retired person or couple would suit her best.
Polly is ready for her new home now, is desexed, vaccinated and tick and flea treatments are current.
If you think Polly could be the right fit for you, please send an email enquiry in the first instance and we will respond to you as soon as we can. She is currently in foster care in Kempsey.

.......................
Midcoast Dog Rescue Inc. is trying to expand its foster carer network so that we can help more dogs in need. This is a very rewarding experience and suits a variety of people. Some people, for whatever reason, are unable to make a permanent commitment to a dog, a commitment which can last for up to 15 years. Others use the fostering experience as an interim measure before committing to permanently owning a dog. If you think you could be interested in becoming a foster carer, either on a long-term or a short-term basis, and would like more information please contact Nigel on 6584 4992 or Wendy on 6584 7027.
