About Honey
Do blondes really have more fun? You’ll just have to meet our sweet Honey in person and decide for yourself!
This platinum bombshell loves her playtime and snuggles with her foster carers, and is kicking goals at home from managing a full workday alone (with her greyhound foster brother) to showing off her skills with training and learning new cues. She’s such a fun and quirky girl, and will delight a forever home with her silly antics like throwing toys for herself, tap dancing gallops when she’s excited, and suddenly plopping down for a nap mid-play - her carers describe her as “having ADHD” she will start doing something and then get distracted by a fly, or a new toy, or someone speaking. She can be a bit of a sock thief, and a “squidgy” shoe chomper (crocs and slides are her Achilles heel), but she shows no resource guarding and doesn’t mind sharing her treasures if asked to give them over.
Outside of the home, Honey is still working on growing her confidence. She’s not yet a pub dog or a cafe girly, and can be a bit scared of strange men, but although she can be cautious, she always approaches things with an inquisitive attitude - at first if something scary is passing her she might back away from it, but once it’s at a safe distance again she wants to watch and even follow it. Despite her timid nature outside, she is great on the lead and a good walker, her most favourite thing is to meet little dog friends - when she sees a chihuahua it’s a tail wagging delight that fills her with joy!
Because she still needs to take the outside world at her own pace, Honey’s perfect forever home is preferably in a quiet location with an outdoor area for her to comfortably toilet in - ideally there would be another confident dog in the home to help her on walks, or access to other dogs on a regular basis through friends/family. Although she can do workdays without her humans, Honey has never been home alone without another dog.
When asked what they like best about Honey, her foster carers said what a joy it has been to watch her learn and see how far she has come. From spending the first few days camping under a desk and not wanting to leave the study, in a few short weeks she has grown so much and become a vivacious cuddle-bug. A forever home with the patience to let her settle in will be rewarded with all the love and laughs that this girl has to give.

Not suitable for apartments or homes without outdoor areas
Not suitable to live with cats

Adoption details
Thinking about adopting?
We’d love to help you find your greyhound match!
To get started, we’ll ask for a bit of information about your home and lifestyle on our application form. This helps us make sure we match you with a dog that suits your household and sets both of you up for success.
Many greyhounds come from racing kennels where they’re used to having other dogs around. Some can struggle being left completely alone, which can lead to signs of separation anxiety like barking or chewing.
Because of this, we usually look to rehome greyhounds into homes where they’ll have company - either human or canine - and not be left alone for more than four hours on a regular basis. If that’s not your setup right now, don’t worry as we’re happy to chat about options such as dog walkers, doggy daycare, or taking your greyhound to work.
Our Adoption Checklist:
To be considered for adoption, we ask that you have:
A secure, fully fenced yard (minimum height around hip height)
A home where the dog is allowed to sleep inside at night
A routine that doesn’t leave the dog home alone regularly for long periods (more than 4 hours) without people or another dog for company
If you’re not sure whether you tick every box, please still apply! We’re happy to have a conversation and see if we have a greyhound who might be the right fit.
Please fill in as much detail as you can as there’s no word limit on any question.
