About Bo
Meet Bo, a gentle and quiet soul looking for the perfect family to share his calm demeanour and laid-back lifestyle with. If you are seeking a soothing presence in your life, Bo is your guy. He is an expert at leaning against you for some tender love and affection while soaking up the sun or snuggled up on a cozy blanket.
Bo is a foodie, which makes it easier to train him for new tricks and tips. While he may start off a bit reserved, he quickly warms up, especially if there are treats involved! Walking with Bo is a delightful experience as he walks nicely on a leash, enjoying the fresh air and gentle pace.
This sweet boy is independent off-lead and gets along well with dogs of all sizes, so he's always up for playdates. A home with a doggy sibling would be perfect for Bo, as he enjoys the companionship of other dogs. When it comes to little pups, Bo's gentle nature truly shines. He may even be cat-trainable, but he has yet to meet any feline friends.
Bo thrives in a peaceful environment free from the commotion of heavy traffic or loud sounds, which can startle him. He would do best in a home with children aged 8 and up who understand his gentle demeanour and prefer a quieter setting. Whether in a small yard or an apartment, Bo is adaptable and ready to enjoy his retirement in comfort and peace.
In short, Bo is a cuddly, calm, and caring companion who would thrive in a family that can offer him the relaxed, loving environment he deserves.
Medical notes
No known pre-existing medical conditions. Has had a dental clean recently. Occasionally the 3rd eye lid prolapses (doesn't retract fully) on his left eye, doesn't cause him any issues (vet has checked it) and there is nothing that can be done. He just looks a little funky at times.
Adoption details
Step 1: Please contact Anna Rogers, Dog colony supervisor (anna.rogers@tafesa.edu.au) for an application form.
Step 2: Return the completed application form to Anna Rogers. Once we receive your completed application form along with a minimum of 5 photos of your property showing various views of your backyard covering gates, fences, shelter areas for the greyhound and any other area (i.e. inside the house) the greyhound will be residing in. This is so we can assess your property as safe and suitable for a greyhound and match you to the dog that best suits your environment/lifestyle.
Step 3: We will match you with the dog best suited to your situation and lifestyle.
Step 4: A meet in greet will occur with all family members including any existing pet dogs. If everyone gets along and the application is successful, the dog will then be collected at an agreed later date.
Step 5: Collect the dog and shower them with love!
All the greyhounds up for adoption are desexed, microchipped, wormed and vaccinated. The dogs also have had regular dental checks and cleans.
All the dogs come with:
- their lead & collar,
- muzzle (if they require one),
- full medical history since they arrived at Tafe,
- desexing and vaccination certificates,
- a winter jacket,
- a blanket that smells of them and,
- a week's supply of dry dog food for you to transition the dog to the food of your choice.
