Introduced our beautiful and lively Border collie girl, Leia. At just 12 months old, she is an absolute joy to have as a companion, bringing endless fun and energy into any household. Her youthful exuberance is matched by her affectionate nature, making her a delightful addition to any family. Leia has a few favorite activities that she simply cannot get enough of. She absolutely loves going on walks, where she can explore the world around her and burn off some of that boundless energy. Another one of her cherished pastimes is playing chase with other dogs. She thrives on the interaction and excitement that comes with a good game of chase, making her a perfect playmate for other energetic dogs.
When it comes to interacting with humans, Leia is a friendly and sociable girl. She enjoys spending time with people and is always eager to receive a gentle pat or a scratch behind the ears. She loves being your companion on long walks, where she can bond with you while enjoying the great outdoors.
Despite her energetic nature, Leia is not overly jumpy, making her a pleasant and well-mannered companion.
In terms of obedience and training, Leia is still in the process of learning her basic commands, as she is still quite young. She has already mastered a few commands such as sit, come, and out. Her eagerness to learn and develop her skills is evident, and with continued training, she is sure to become even more obedient and well-behaved.
Leia’s social skills with other dog are have been polite . She has interacted well with the dogs she has met, particularly those that are calm and friendly. She is always keen to engage in a game of chase, showcasing her playful and sociable nature. We would love to find her a male friend she could interact with of similar size and energy
When it comes to independence, Leia is capable of being left alone if you have to go to work. Initially, she may bark a bit, but she is settling into her routine and becoming more comfortable with being alone. Ideally, she would thrive in a larger yard with a canine friend to keep her company.
Regarding her dietary preferences, Leia is not particularly fond of kibble, but she is doing well with a mix of wet and dry food. This combination seems to suit her taste and nutritional needs.
Leia’s grooming and hygiene are well-maintained. She recently had a grooming session and was described as a star customer by the groomer. With her medium-length coat, she will require regular brushing and grooming to keep her looking her best.
She is fully toilet trained. At night, Leia sleeps in the laundry room on her bed, without making a sound. Her calm demeanor during bedtime ensures a restful night for everyone in the household.
Leia is also a great traveler when it comes to car rides. She handles car travel well, making her an ideal companion for trips and adventures.
As a working dog, Leia requires regular exercise and mental stimulation to keep her happy and healthy. She enjoys a long daily walk , although she may pull if something particularly interesting catches her attention. She is improving with her leash walking skills
Inside the home, Leia is calm and well-behaved, although she is still supervised due to her young age as she can get up to mischief chewing a few plastic items just like any young pup. She will settle on her mat for rest
The ideal home for Leia would be with an active family who is familiar with the needs of working breeds. She would thrive in an environment where she has a playful male dog friend to hang out with and engage in games of chase. A home with a medium-sized, secure yard would be perfect for her to explore and play in. Additionally, a family committed to ongoing training would be ideal to help Leia continue developing her skills and obedience.
