About Kayda
Kayda is a gentle soul with a kind nature, a big heart and not one mean bone in her little body. She can be a shy and timid little thing but once she finds her confidence she has a lot of love to give.
She was well loved by her previous owner but sadly they had to travel for an extended period of time for work and could not take her with them so they made the painful decision to reach out to us to find her a new home.
She comes from a loving household and has a heart of gold.
Kayda takes her time to trust, but the rewards are tender and deeply meaningful once she feels safe. She has a shy soul and a big heart that is just waiting to bloom once it finds the right environment. She actually surprised us by adapting very quickly when she first arrived in her foster home, but that probably had a lot to do with her foster sister Cinnamon being there by her side. Kayda is far more confident and adventurous when another cat is around.
Her previous owners think she may have begun her life as a stray cat, which is where her timid streak comes from, but we're certain that with the right love and dedication, she will only continue to grow in confidence.
Kayda can be affectionate but her affection is very much on her terms. She's not the type of cat that you can pick up and smooch but she will happily rub up against your legs, sit next to you on the couch and jump up on the bed when she's in the mood for attention.
Her foster family describe her as being "shy and awkward but affectionate". She does a cute little head bob when checking things out and is generally quiet but does sometimes let out an adorable little chirp. She likes her pats and ear scratches and apparently has the quirky habit of peeing by sitting on the edge of the litter box and using it like a human toilet haha.
Kayda is very cat social so we would love to find her a quiet home with a cat-friendly cat who could taker her under their wing and show her the ropes in her new home. She is a bit co-dependent and much more confident around other cats so we would love to find a home that already has a cat so Kayda can have a brother or sister who can show her the way. She has a submissive, non-dominant personality around other cats and would be happy to be the little sister or second fiddle in the relationship.
A home with a young professional or couple, a family with adult kids, or even a retiree who's looking for a friend for their current cat would be great. Noisy young kids are out of the question.
If you're looking to add a sweet and gentle soul to your home then Kayda is the cat for you.
Kayda is approximately 5.5 years old and has been desexed, microchipped, vaccinated and is available for adoption right meow.
If you think you have the room in your heart and your home to provide this gorgeous little soul with a great life please let us know and we’ll be more than happy to arrange a time for you to meet and fall in love with her.

A little about us:
Urban Feline Australia is a newly established cat rescue service, run by one passionate individual with the help of friends and volunteers, that is dedicated to keeping cats out of kill shelters and helping them find loving forever homes. We specialize in helping "surrenders" which are cats that have lived with humans previously but for one reason or another their owners are unfortunately no longer able to look after them. We take your pets into our amazing cat sanctuary where they're treated with love and affection until the right forever home is found for them.
Urban Feline Australia is not a large company with government resources, a large facility and a lot of staff. Our tiny rescue is a one man operation run from the safety of our own home. We do this for the love of animals and our only agenda is to save as many cats as we can. We rely heavily on cooperation from friends, other rescues, our amazing foster carers and the kindness of strangers to survive. Every cent we receive from donations and adoption fees is used to keep our rescue running and cover the cost of food, water, litter, equipment and vet bills for the animals in our care.
We are doing as much as we can right now but our dream is to one day be able to purchase a larger property or facility that would allow us to be able to save the lives of many more cats in need. Perhaps even open a cat cafe so that we can spread our message to a wider audience.
We have recently created a Go Fund Me towards this end so if you would like to donate towards our cause you can find it by searching for Urban Feline Australia.
Otherwise please check out our social media to learn a bit more about what we do.
