About Valentino
*In foster care in Ashfield, Sydney*
The first thing to know about Valentino (known as Tino in his foster home) is that he’s ALL purrs! He purrs from the moment he sees you, and won’t stop unless he’s super focused on eating or fallen asleep.
Tino has a bright and affectionate personality, and takes cute aggression like a champ. When you first meet him, he likes to act the independent cool cat, but don't be fooled - he laps up all the attention he can get! He harbours a heart-melting preference for head massages and butt scratches (his weakness!), and flops over with no hesitation for belly rubs. He enjoys walking soundlessly up to your chair and sitting expectantly until you turn around. When you do, hold out your hand and wait for him to come to you - you’ll feel all the soft fur on his tiny head ramming into your hand as he bumps into it super-hard :)
If you make the mistake of falling asleep on the couch at night, you may awake to Tino's paws pressing playfully onto a) your face, b) your hands, c) your back, or d) all of the above. He also enjoys tucking his head into the crook of your elbow if you carry him in your arms - so precious!
Though Tino doesn’t meow often, you'll be besotted with the sound when he does. It's too cute for words, and somehow it's absolutely not what you expect! You're most likely to hear it during his evening zoomies, which mostly consist of him sprinting up and down the stairs solo (but sometimes he’ll bring his favourite toy along as well).
Speaking of toys - Tino loves mice and balls and laundry clips and basically everything you give him! He’s super playful and can entertain himself with the toys while you work, but definitely prefers an interactive game with you :)
Like all Maggie's pets, Valentino is microchipped, desexed and vaccinated.

MY IDEAL HOME: ... is somewhere quiet, calm and clean, with a wonderful human or two who enjoy a slower pace of life but are always up for some play when I'm in the mood. Despite my active and affectionate nature, I respond better to a gentle approach to a pat or snuggle session - sudden movements can catch me off-guard. Because of this, I'm probably not a great match for a busy household, so a home without young kids would suit me best.
I mostly eat and drink at night while you're asleep, so I'll need a little food station where I can help myself to sustenance whenever I want. I'm an excellent litter box user, never missing the mark and always covering after I go!
MY ENERGY LEVEL: It totally depends on whether you’re home - I'm way more active when you’re around! Most of the day, I'm a chill little dude, lounging on the couch or sunbathing. But once evening hits, I get a burst of energy: about 30% zoomies sprinting loudly up and down the stairs, and 20% playtime on the couch with my toys.
MY SUITABILITY TO CHILDREN: I'm best suited to an adult-only home - plus, less is more for me, when it comes to people :)
MY SUITABILITY TO CATS AND DOGS: I came from a street colony, so chances are I'd be fine with other friendly cats (though I am a bit of an attention hog - something to keep in mind if you other cat's on the shyer side.).
As for dogs - that's a pass from me, dawg.
Medical notes
Tino has juvenile gingivitis and has had a recent dental clean to help manage this. Juvenile gingivitis can resolve on it's own - Like all cats, routine dental care will help manage his dental health.

Our foster carer will contact you when we receive your application to arrange a time for you to meet with their foster pet.
We want your adoption through Maggie's to be a good experience so we will occasionally suggest a different cat or dog that may suit your situation better and the needs of the individual pet.
All our pets leave for their new homes on a two-week trial. At the end of the trial, we will transfer the microchip into your name and provide you with the pets vet certificates. Once you receive the Certificate of Identification from council, your adoption will be complete.
