About Florance
Meet our long-termer Florance who is very patiently waiting to find her forever family.
Florance came into our care as a stray all the way back in August, and despite our best efforts, no one came forward to claim her. She's a bit unsure of the world right now. She's quiet, nervous, and not quite sure what to do with herself but once she's comfortable and excited... brace yourself. Literally!
Because when Florance is happy, she does her adorable "monster zoomies" - big, bouncy, tail-wagging laps around the yard that are all enthusiasm and zero danger. She may be a big girl, but she's very aware of her size and has no intention of knocking anyone over. Her zoomies are simply her joyful way of showing how much she loves life (and you!).
Florance is still learning her skills she doesn't know many commands just yet but with patience, consistency, and lots of treats, she has the potential to flourish. She absolutely lives for food and will happily trade some confidence building for a snack or two.
Florance will need to live with a calm, well adjusted dog who can help show her the ropes. She finds comfort in canine company, and the right furry friend could help her build confidence and settle into her new life. As always, slow and gentle introductions are key.
Given her nervous nature and sheer size, Florance will also need a home without children. She's just not ready for the hustle and bustle of little humans, and she doesn't quite realise how much space she takes up. A quiet, adults only home with people who understand big, sensitive dogs would be perfect.
If you've got a Florance shaped space in your heart (and on your couch... and in your hallway), come meet our sweet, oversized lady at The Lost Dogs' Home in North Melbourne today. Just maybe... stand behind a sturdy object when you say hello.
