Introducing Rex!

This fine looking Dachshund is a sweet, affectionate young dog who is ready to find his furever home. He came into the facility with no real known history, but has proven himself to be gentle, interactive and capable to all he meets. Prior breed knowledge is always preferred but not essential for this little guy so we just request you do some research into Dachshund common behavioural and health traits to offer him the best life possible.

He would be best suited to a home that includes him in daily activities both indoors and out and could suit a variety of family settings including ones with children. He has only met afew children whilst in our care, so a meet a greet with all family members is a must to make sure everyone gets along well.

He appears to enjoy the attention of other polite canine companions and would best suit a dog that is not too boisterous or invasive because he finds this terrifying. We want him to build his confidence up not tear it down. He may be suitable for dog parks and beaches into the future but we recommend a minimum of 3 months decompression time to allow him a chance to settle into his new home.

He may also be suitable to live with feline friends showing our shelter cats respect whenever taken into the cattery areas.
