Meet Poe, a gentle soul with the potential to be a delightful addition to a patient and nurturing home. This shy, independent feline is looking for a special family who understands the unique needs of a cat who may take some time to open up. He's ideally suited for apartment living and would thrive in an indoor-only environment where he can feel secure and loved.

Poe has his little quirks; when he wants attention, he's been known to tap your leg with his paw or give a gentle nibble, just to make sure you know he’s there. He adores the coziness of a bed and frequently snoozes on his foster carer's bed, dreaming of new beginnings. One unique trait of Poe's is his fascination with hair; he seems to think it's his toy and may attempt to make it his own.

With a beautiful coat of long fur, Poe requires weekly brushing to maintain his stunning look. He is currently a bit on the heavier side and will need a loving home that can help him stick to a diet plan, ensuring he stays healthy and happy. Poe would do well in a household with older children who can respect his personal space and communicate with him in his language.

As of 1st August 2025, our adoption fees will be adjusted to help cover rising vet and care costs. The new fees are as follows:

Kittens (1 vaccination): $400
Kittens (2 vaccinations): $450
Adult & Adolescent Cats (9+ months): $280
Breed cats will be listed with a separate adoption fee based on their individual profile.

Change of ownership is included in the adoption fee.

Thank you for your ongoing support in helping us care for and rehome the many cats and kittens that come through our rescue.

All 2nd Chance Cat Rescue cats are desexed, microchipped, vaccinated, flea and worm treated and come with a take home pack. We transfer the change of Ownership free of charge into your name.
