About Alfie
Meet Alfie! He is the black-boy 🖤 rescued from the North Queensland with his tan-boy brother. 🧡 Well, Alfie is ready for his forever home now and he is looking for a patient new family to help him continue to thrive. 🚀
Alfie is a beautiful natured boy. 👍 He is extremely gentle, 🧸 almost never barks, never jumps on people or furniture and doesn’t seem to shed hair at all. He will make the best companion. 🥰
Having been caged for most of his 12 months of life, he was anxious and very scared of everyday life, noises and new humans. 💔With the help of his fur friend, he is now learning how to be a dog, so would need to go to a family with another dog to be his mentor. 🐕🐕
He does love the company of another dog and it is a must moving forward for Alife. He does seem to prefer smaller dogs though. 🐾
As he hasn’t had many kind humans in his life, 😠 he does take some time to become trusting with people. 😳 But once he gets to know you, he is very affectionate, loves snuggles, and would crawl into your lap and sit there contented for as long as you will let him. 🖤
After only three weeks, he is starting to enjoy walks, 🦮 is very well behaved on the lead and is much braver with another dog by his side although at this early stage he still gets spooked by loud noises and would be best suited to walks in a quiet environment until he becomes more familiar with the outside world. 👌
Even though he is still very young, he is very chilled and doesn’t require entertainment. 👍
He is happy to play and just hang out with other dogs. ✔
He would suit a home with no or older children. Noisy children scare him. ❌
He has never seen a cat. 🐱❓
He needs a home where he can live and sleep inside with his family but have access to a secured well fenced (5ft) yard. 🏡
Medical notes
No known pre-existing conditions.
Adoption details
We list animals for adoption on Pet Rescue as well as on our own Animals-in-Need-Brisbane website. We talk with people who contact about an animal to see what their needs and situation are. Our emphasis is on getting the right animal for the people and the right people for the animal. If everyone's needs are met things usually work out well.
Please note all our cats are indoor cats only.
If the situation sounds good we arrange a meeting. If all goes well we let people try the animal out for a couple of weeks to ensure that everyone is happy.
We keep records of all adopters, follow up to ensure all is well and undertake to take back any animal if circumstances change.
