About Roobie
Meet Roobie - A Hidden Gem in the Undergrowth
Breed: Australian Cattle Dog Mix
Age: 14 months
Gender: Female
Roobie isn't just a fun name-it's a hint at the kind of dog she is: quietly magical, full of character, and waiting to be discovered by someone who sees beyond the surface and dig a little deeper. She's not one to show off, but once you stop, pause, and take a closer look, you'll find a loyal, intelligent companion who's ready to grow on you.
This girl is not one to sit around in the dark and simply develop, she's fun and full of life! Roobie has that classic working dog energy-she's active, alert, and thrives with structure and purpose. She'll need a home that can keep up with her zest for life and provide the mental and physical stimulation she craves. A breed knowledgeable owner would be best fit for this lovely girl.
Social Butterfly (with Boundaries):
Roobie enjoys the company of other dogs, especially those who are calm and polite. She's dog-social and does well with canine friends who respects her space matches her energy and allows her to be in charge.
Best Fit Home:
Adults without children, or a home with teenagers only..
Active lifestyle with time for training, enrichment, and adventures.
A home with a submissive easy going dog should you already have a furry family member, a companion who is happy to acknowledge Roobie is in charge of her own domain and allow her to shine like the true gem she is.
Why Roobie?
Like spotting a Roobie in the rble of freshly turned dirt, this girl is a delight to behold once you take the time to truly see her. She's thoughtful, sensitive, and full of potential. With patience and love, she'll bloom into a devoted companion who'll reward you with loyalty, laughter, and plenty of tail wags.

Adoption details
BARC adoption officers will work with you to help you find a dog or cat that matches your needs, they will discuss things like yard fencing, exercise requirements, other pets and family members, lifestyle factors, and breed experience. To help make this as quick and easy as possible, we ask you complete and adoption questionnaire (located on our website, or you can complete on when you visit). This helps ensure that we are introducing you to the most suitable animals we have available.
We encourage all members of the household to attend a meet and greet with a pet prior to adopting an animal. If the animal being adopted is a dog, we will also require existing dogs in the household to attend the shelter as part of the meet and greet.
Holds can not be placed on animals over the phone, and can only be applied at the discretion of management.
