Introducing darling Arliebear!

Beautiful Arliebear is looking for a VERY particular forever home.
Please look beyond her gorgeous appearance as she has some special requirements.

Arliebear arrived into care with 9 other dogs. She was petrified, hyper-vigilant, neglected and malnourished. She had had no exposure to life beyond the cruelty of a puppy farm for her entire life. As a result she is frightened of everything and everyone new.

She has made remarkable progress since her arrival in foster care but in order for her to continue to thrive her new home MUST have and be:
*an adult only home that is kind, patient and predictable.
*calm owners and environment.
*another small,tolerant, easy going dog.
*a backyard with grass.
*previous experience with frightened/puppy farm dogs preferred.

Beneath her fears Arliebear is an absolute delight!
She has shown no signs of aggression at all. Her fear reactions are running away,hiding in corners and freezing.

She will bark (a lot!) at new people in the home or those she is scared of when out and about. Unfortunately she is still very scared of most men. Anything new or unpredictable, no matter how seemingly insignificant is potentially a source of fear.
Sometimes if you re-enter a room after a brief absence she is scared again and trust needs to be regained.

As Arliebear gains her confidence from other dogs, another small tolerant resident dog is non negotiable. She is still learning about doggy etiquette and boundaries.

Arliebear now loves her daily walks,especially in quiet areas. She has learnt about the beach and the bush, and enjoys both. She now gets excited when her harness comes out, but still needs a lot of lead training.

Darling Arliebear has learnt a lot about kindness,love and fun during her time in foster care. With time, and once she feels safe and trusts she has become very affectionate and playful. She loves to be with you when you are sitting on the couch, and adores her morning cuddles on the human bed. She sleeps well overnight in her bed in her pen next to her humans bed. She prefers to approach you rather than be approached by you. She can still be wary when her humans are walking around.

She has now learnt about toys and balls and now loves to play. She is so happy when she is running around playing and doing zoomies in the backyard. She is also great in the car.

Arliebear needed 6 teeth removed whilst in care. She can be fussy with food and is easily distracted when eating. She will continue to need encouragement with this.
Toilet training will also need some patience,although she has made a lot of progress she still has the occasional accident.

With time,love and in the right home with those prepared to put in the effort Arliebear will finally get the life she has always deserved.
