About Lokma
Missy's story is a quiet one, the one we see far too often, and the kind that tugs at your heart. She was born beneath a chicken coop, where the world was loud, cold, and far away from human kindness. For the first year of her life, she watched people, curious but cautious, and too unsure to come close.
Now, Missy is safe with us, learning that hands can be gentle and that hearts can be kind. She's a soft, sweet young lady with eyes that seem to ask if she's really allowed to trust. And we believe she is.
Missy won't be the cat who greets you at the door (not yet). She'll likely hide at first, needing time, patience, and a safe space she can call her own. But if you give her that space, if you let her move at her own pace, one day she'll step forward. She'll start to come out of her shell and show you her true side.
Missy also has FIV, so this means that we highly recommend Missy be a solely indoor cat for the rest of her life, not only to keep other cats safe, but to keep her safe as well.
This won't be an easy journey, it may be a long road with small, hard-won moments. But if you're someone who finds beauty in gentle progress and joy in the trust of a once-wary heart, then Missy is waiting for you. If you've ever wanted to truly change a life, Missy is your chance. Come meet her and help her discover what it means to be loved.
Missy is part of our Rescue or Rehome program, where we are committed to finding homes for cats and kittens who simply cannot cope in the shelter environment. If you can open your heart and home to Saliha - or if you're a rescue group able to help - please reach out to us at adoptions@dogshome.com
Missy is waiting for her hero. Could that be you?
