About Lulu
The gorgeous Lulu , such a beauty both inside and out now starts the search for her forever family home,
Meet the delightful Lulu, a gentle and affectionate young Lab x Kelpie mix who is so full of love . gentleness and a beautiful calm demeanor.
Since arriving in foster care she has blossomed in confidence and playfulness, making her an ideal companion for the right family.
Lulu is a soft natured girl who has a gorgeous, soft coat that she loves to have stroked. Weighing in at 25kg, sheâs a medium-sized, fully grown girl.
Lulu adores pats, chest strokes, and chewy toys. She communicates with her paw for attention and is a self-taught âhandshakeâ expert!
She entertains herself with her âgiggleâ ball and has developed a love for chasing balls.
She also appreciates a good nap.
Lulu enjoys reconnecting with familiar people, greeting them with a sniff and a wag. Sheâs becoming more confident meeting new people, though she remains cautious around some men. She has never shown aggression, just preferring to take her time to make friends.
Living with an adult female and two teenagers, Lulu is affectionate but not clingy, understanding when itâs time for cuddles and when to give space.
She doesnât jump up but wags her whole body when excited.
While not tested with young children, sheâs been great with kids aged 10 and up.
Lulu after being in the pound was initially nervous about entering the house, Lulu quickly adapted and is very well-mannered. Sheâs content to lie nearby while her foster mom practices yoga, occasionally reaching out for a stroke.
A smart girl, she knows commands like âsit,â âhandshake,â âno,â and is learning âwaitâ and âmat/bed.â She behaves impeccably in group training.
While she enjoys chewing toys and nylabones, she may occasionally chew on less appropriate items like socks or pens, so itâs best to keep valuables out of reach.
In the garden, she only digs to bury bones lol.
Lulu loves meeting friendly, laid-back dogs and respects their boundaries. Dominant dogs or those that rush or bark at her can scare her, but she relaxes once they calm down.
She has shown a playful side offering play bows to dogs she feels comfortable with so would be suited to have a calm male companion.
Lulu has now also become a great ârunning partnerâ for her foster mum's daily exercise and loves every minute of her jog.
She has been noticed to take an interest in birds and rabbits but hasnât been tested with cats.
Lulu isnât very food-driven, often preferring pats as rewards. She grazes on high-quality kibble throughout the day but enjoys cheese and leftover meatballs. Interested in kitchen activities, she never begs or pesters during meals. She is very gentle taking treats
Lulu shows no signs of separation anxiety, content with a bone or food-filled kong and toys while her family is out.
She doesnât mind staying downstairs when her humans are upstairs and adapts well to a home without a set routine.
Lulu sleeps in her basket in the lounge at night and naps in various spots during the day. She sleeps through the night and is fully toilet trained, waiting patiently at the door if she needs to go out.
Lulu now loves walks and is becoming a pleasure to walk on the lead. She doesnât pull, making walks relaxing.
She walks on a martingale collar for safety during the odd time she may see a rabbit or bird.
Lulu is unfazed passing other dogs. She has had no issues with passing cars. Lulu enjoys burning off energy chasing balls and playing with her âgiggle ball.â
A relaxed daily walk and playtime make an ideal exercise routine for her.
Sheâs warming up to car rides, realizing they lead to fun destinations.
To set her up for success her adoption profile is as follows
World Lulu would thrive as either an only dog or with a friendly, relaxed canine companion. Her ideal home allows her inside with her family and access to a garden. Sheâs a relaxed household member who, with a daily walk and regular play, doesnât require a large backyard. Lulu does require a quiet patient household when she moves to a new home as she has a soft gentle nature which needs nurturing She would be suited to an active family who would include her in outdoor adventures Lulu is most probably not suited to a farm property unless well fenced.
