About Paddington
Meet Paddington — Your New Best Friend 💛🐾
It takes only seconds in Paddington’s presence to know he’s a treasure equal to that of his namesake. With his soulful eyes, joyful spirit, and teddy-bear cuddles, Paddington brings warmth and light wherever he goes.
Don’t let his entry into care fool you—this boy has clearly known love. At just seven years young, Paddington arrived already house-trained, polite, and an absolute pro at fetch, catch, and give. He’s also got a black belt in cuddling—seriously, stuffed bears have nothing on this pup.
A Natural Athlete with a Tender Soul
Paddington is strong, agile, and playful—he loves to run, especially if there’s a ball involved! But what he loves most is being near his people. Though he has the energy for play, Paddington thrives on connection and affection, and he’ll often choose to stay close to his pack over exploring alone.
His charm isn’t limited to his foster family. Paddington has stolen the hearts of the entire neighbourhood. From curious kids to caring neighbours, people knock on the door just to say hi to him! He has a special gift for bringing out the best in everyone he meets.
The Ideal Home for Paddington
Paddington is currently living peacefully with a senior female Labrador—sharing meals, naps, and space without issue. He’s sensitive and thrives in calm, consistent environments where positive reinforcement is the name of the game. With a gentle guide and patient support, Paddington continues to grow in confidence every day.
While he does take cues from his doggy housemate, Paddington could also thrive as a beloved only pet—so long as he has humans who are ready to dote on him.
Health & Ongoing Care
Paddington has a few manageable health considerations that mean he’s likely best suited to a home with experienced dog parents—or those willing to learn and stay engaged with his care. A daily dose of Apoquel keeps his skin comfortable, and his ideal family will be attentive to small changes, stay in touch with a trusted vet (or naturopath), and have a few TLC tricks up their sleeve.
Paddington is incredibly patient and cooperative during his care routines, and with time and trust, his needs become second nature.
Paddington’s Lifestyle & Needs
Energy Level: Moderately active. Paddington loves daily play, walks, and mental stimulation, but he also settles well once he’s had his fun.
Apartment-friendly: Yes—with access to outdoor spaces and regular walks, Paddington could thrive in a well-balanced apartment life.
Travel Buddy: He rides beautifully in the car and enjoys family adventures.
Weatherproof: He’s even learned to enjoy walks in the rain!
Stairs: No problem.
Recall: Strong, and improving with regular practice.
Compatibility
Children: Great with dog-savvy kids aged 5 and up.
Dogs: Has done well with other dogs, especially with guidance from calm, confident companions.
Cats: Unknown.
Paddington is still learning some of the social nuances of being a dog and often prefers the company of humans, but he can play happily around other pups once comfortable.
Ready to Open Your Heart?
If you’re ready for your heart to grow three sizes, Paddington is ready to be your constant companion and devoted best friend. His love is boundless, his joy is contagious, and his cuddles are legendary.
This beautiful boy is ready to come home—for keeps.
