About Lex and munchkin
Lex and Munchkin require the following in their new home:
- To be kept together
- No other cats in the home.
- Patient owners who will work with Lex to build his confidence.
- No young children
- Inside only cats, preferably with access to a cat safe enclosure.
This very special duo came to us off the street, very frightened of human contact. They were found together with Munchkin’s mum as well (Valkyrie is also currently available for adoption). This trio had an unusually strong commitment to being a family unit. However, over many months it became clear that there is an unwavering bond between dad and daughter in particular. It’s a beautiful thing to be a part of their precious journey.
Miss Munchkin developed trust in us very quickly and adapted readily to domestic life. She is affectionate with her people, playful, and she is a respectful team player in a houseful of cats. She adores an intense session of playing with a laser, and to run and wrestle with her dad late at night. She has a quiet, unassuming air to her, and isn’t demanding of attention, just happy to be with you when it’s time to down tools. That is unless that laser comes out, then she is all in! It’s a sport for her and she takes it very seriously!
Lex has remained reluctant to trust humans, but month by month makes small, consistent degrees of headway with this. It took a long time, but he will now play with a laser if household cat life around him is quiet. And he gets bolder about mingling with humans when it’s dinner time! Then he comes out onto the kitchen floor with the rest of the foster cats to make sure he doesn’t miss out on the good stuff! He’ll also take small treats from his human’s hands if they stay very still and quiet. His foster family are so proud of every small step forward that he has made. He is a very special lad who deserves a home that will love him right where he is and celebrates every one of his wins on this journey, no matter how big or small.
Lex really needs to stay with his girl. He depends on her for safe companionship and good social modelling. For this reason, they must be homed as a bonded pair. Together they offer a special mix of a long-term project requiring great patience (Lex) and an immediately rewarding relationship (Munchkin).
They both do well with other cats that are good at socialising, but if another cat has a lot of attitude, then Lex may clash with their personality. Whilst Munchkin is happy just to let others be entirely, Lex doesn't do so well with cats who lack those good social skills. However, with cats who are very “whatever”, he does life easily together with them.
Munchkin and Lex are both litter trained and they both need to be indoor only cats, except for an outdoor cat enclosure. They are both deeply appreciative of the outdoor enclosure they have the use of in their foster home and can frequently be found out there enjoying the fresh air and the view. They would absolutely love to have one in their adoptive home!

If you believe one of our animals would be a good match for your home please send us a detailed email us with some information about the people and any other animals in your home as well as the type of lifestyle you can offer a new rescue pet.
We are volunteerswho run the rescue around families, paid employment and other commitments so your patience is appreciated.
We do require you to travel to meet the animal you are looking to adopt. For dog adoptions, any other dogs in your home musr attend the meet and greet, this enables us to assess their compatibility and helps prevent them being returned and creating more confusion/insecurities for the foster animal.
