About Gizmo
*In foster care in Ashfield, Sydney*
Confident and curious, with a wonderfully gentle nature, Gizmo is an absolute sweetheart!
This beautiful boy is toy-obsessed (especially teaser toys on a string) and refuses to be the one to tap out first when playing. Currently, his favourite game is chasings - get your trainers on! But once he's puffed himself (and you) out, he switches seamlessly into snooze mode, napping happily by himself in a cosy spot or on the bed with you by his side :)
Gizmo definitely loves to sleep as much as he loves to zoom. He shows his affection by being close to you, but not necessarily on you, and though he's very easygoing he's not a fan of being picked up or held. He enjoys following you around the house too, being careful to observe respectfully without getting in your way. (He's very polite!)
As a fluffy Persian lad, Gizmo requires regular diligent brushing - which, luckily for him, is his third favourite activity :) His hair is quickly growing back after a recent lion cut, and though he certainly looks dapper, he'll soon be back to his majestic self!
Like all Maggie's pets, Gizmo is microchipped, desexed and vaccinated.

MY IDEAL HOME: ... will have plenty of enrichment in the form of toys, scratchers and tall places to perch (ideally with a window view), as well as human and feline interaction. I've not actually met any cats since arriving in foster care, but I have a feeling I'd like them!
MY ENERGY LEVEL: Medium, I'd say. I'm quite routine-oriented, generally playing in the morning and at night and lounging about lazily in between. Cat life, amirite?
MY SUITABILITY TO CHILDREN: I'm a very gentle and playful boy, and nothing much fazes me - so kids who understand boundaries and know how to give pets space would be lovely to live with!
MY SUITABILITY TO CATS AND DOGS: Being so relaxed, there's every chance I'd jump at the opportunity to bond with another nice cat or two!
I'm thinking a dog might be too much, unfortunately.
Medical notes
Since arriving in foster care, Gizmo has had a dental clean, and has also undergone surgery to correct a painful eye condition called entropion. He's recovered well and is now pain-free.

Our foster carer will contact you when we receive your application to arrange a time for you to meet with their foster pet.
We want your adoption through Maggie's to be a good experience so we will occasionally suggest a different cat or dog that may suit your situation better and the needs of the individual pet.
All our pets leave for their new homes on a two-week trial. At the end of the trial, we will transfer the microchip into your name and provide you with the pets vet certificates. Once you receive the Certificate of Identification from council, your adoption will be complete.
