About Drake
Drake is a 2 year old large, well loved and cared for Great Dane in urgent need of a new home. He’s an active boy who’s still maturing and may not become the textbook lazy couch potato Great Dane for a while yet. He’s super affectionate and fantastic company.
Drake has completed early puppy training and some further training since. He passed, but let’s just say he wasn’t top of his class. His recall is still very much a work in progress and he’s also still working on staying on his inside bed when asked and lose leash walking.
What Drake loves most is his weekly runs on the beach where he can get that energy out and play with his footy. He'd love to do this more. Drake adores his toys that he’ll play fetch and bring them to you as long as you’re willing to participate. Drake thinks shaking hands is a wonderful skill he’s learned.
Drake’s inside manners are improving. He has toilet training down pat and loves to be in with his people. He’s not destructive inside these days but outside has a thing for garden hoses and whilst he doesn’t destroy his inside bed he has chewed his outside bed.
Drake has been around kids and loves all people however is a quite the guard dog. He’s not been around cats at all and not had any problems with dogs when out and about.
Like many Great Danes, Drake has a bit of a sensitive tummy but does great on his current kibble that’s readily available.
Tragically for Drake’s owner, he and the other older male in the home have started to have issue with each other. This is the only reason for his rehome, it’s heartbreaking but sadly necessary.
