About Licorice
Meet Licorice, a sweet little Dachshund with a heart full of potential! At just 18 months old, this timid pup may be a bit anxious at first, but with patience and love, she is sure to flourish into the perfect companion. Licorice has a gentle soul, and although she may be frightened by new experiences, like using a lead during walks, she shows remarkable courage in gradually adapting to her surroundings.
Licorice gets along well with other small dogs, making her an ideal addition to a home with canine companions who can help her build confidence. She's curious about cats, although they seem to leave her a bit puzzled, so a careful introduction and a patient approach will allow trust to blossom. When it comes to humans, Licorice is understandably cautious but never aggressive; she simply needs time to learn to trust and open her heart to her new family.
A quiet home would be the perfect setting for Licorice, where she can feel secure and loved. Rioting children or bustling environments aren't her cup of tea, but serene days filled with soft reassurance and gentle guidance will help her grow into a loving pet.
Licorice has an adventurous spirit, and with support and patience, her new family can help her overcome her anxieties and enjoy a lead-and-leash walk. Over time, you'll witness her transformation as she learns to come when called and opens up to the beauty of a loving home.
If you believe in nurturing gentle souls and are ready to welcome Licorice into your home, she's waiting to share her journey of trust and love with someone just like you.
Medical notes
Licorice had a umbilical hernia repair and a dental scale performed.
Adoption details
Our adoption process is easy. You will receive a application for the animals you are interested in. Please full that in and send it back to us.
Even though you may be first to message, this does not always guarantee you will be chosen to adopt. By no means do we run on a "first in, first served basis". We aim to ensure that our animals are adopted into the most suitable home for them and the new family.
With all our animals, we go on what our vet has told us and what we believe the breed and age to be. We never guarantee the breed or age but take the best educated guess.
Please note: Our shelter is located in the Snowy Mountains. We are a 5 hour drive from Sydney and Melbourne and 2 to 3 hours from Canberra.
