Zazu is a 6-month-old American Staffy X, currently weighing around 20kg, with a shy spirit and a heart full of potential. When he first arrived at our shelter as a stray, Zazu was overwhelmed and frightened - so unsure of his surroundings that he had to be gently carried to his pen, where he curled up tightly, trying to make sense of it all.

But even in those early days, we could see that Zazu was just waiting for the right kind of love to help him bloom. And we found his spark - other dogs. Around his canine companions, Zazu comes to life. He runs, he plays, he shines. His body language softens, his tail wags, and that beautiful, tentative joy starts to peek through.

Because of this, Zazu is looking for a home where he'll have a confident resident dog to help guide him and show him that the world isn't so scary after all. A calm, consistent home environment will be key - somewhere he can take things at his own pace, with patient people who understand that trust takes time and love is the foundation.

Zazu could live with a dog-savvy cat, given slow and careful introductions, and would be suited to a family with children who respect that he may need his own space as he adjusts. Positive socialisation, gentle lead work, and ongoing reassurance will help him grow into the confident, happy companion we know he can be.

Zazu has already shown us how much love he has to give - he just needs the right person (or people) to help bring it out.
