Hi, I'm Harry Valenti — a gentle soul looking for my forever home.
I'm a 6-year-old chocolate poodle with soft, curly fur and warm brown eyes that tell a story — though sometimes they hide beneath my coat until I feel safe enough to show them off. I've had some experiences in life that made me a little wary of people at first. I'm a little frightened of strangers, and I might keep my distance when we first meet. Life hasn't always been kind, and it's left me a little unsure of the world.
But here's the thing — once I realise I'm safe and loved, my true self shines through. I adore gentle pats, soft voices, and the comfort of someone who moves slowly and kindly. With patience, I'll follow you from room to room, curl up beside you on the couch, and rest my head in your lap as if I've always belonged there. I don't need much — just time, love, and understanding — and in return, I'll give you unwavering loyalty and the kind of affection that only comes from a dog who's learned to trust again.
I love my walks and will happily trot beside you, tail wagging as we explore the neighbourhood together. I also take my "home security duties" quite seriously — especially when it comes to the postman! I'll watch proudly from the window, making sure you know I'm on guard.
I need to have another dog or two around — as I find comfort and confidence in the company of other dogs. They help me feel braver, and I love the simple joy of being part of a little pack.
What I dream of most is a calm, loving home — one where patience is second nature and kindness fills the air. If you have a warm spot on your couch and a gentle hand to guide me, I promise I'll give you every ounce of love in my heart.
If you're looking for a quiet, loyal companion who will love you endlessly once he learns to trust, then I think we might be meant for each other. ❤️
Love,
Harry Valenti

a dog comes to us on heartworm treatment this is continued.

Adoption details
We are a community fostercare network, not a shelter, and our dogs and cats are cared for in private homes. Note that we are very careful where we rehome our dogs and cats and we have an intensive process. If you want a quick turnaround we are not the group for you. If you seem like a good match for the dog of your choice we will organise a telephone chat, a meet and greet and a property check. We offer free assistance for six weeks for any issues, a lifetime takeback policy with full refund of the adoption fee, and will always be available to offer advice.
We care for our dogs and cats and we want you to as well. We know that genuine applicants have no trouble with this process and understand that if we refuse you a dog or cat, it is because you are not the best match for that pet.
Our commitment to the dogs and cats in our care is total and we treat each one as if we are passing on a family pet. This may not suit you so we point out that there are equally great dogs and cats available in pounds, shelters and with other rescue groups.
