About Panda
Hi there, I am Panda. I was surrendered to the pound through no fault of my own. It was just that the other dogs didn’t take to me and I was going to end up hurt.
ARK stepped in and offered me a chance, and despite everything I’ve been through, I have chosen to show nothing but kindness and love.
My breed? I would say I’m 70% couch potato, 10% zoomies, 20% having a great time but definitely 100% loving.
I am a little shy at the outset, but once you have shown me a little kindness, I will shower you with love and affection.
My foster Mum says I am the best foster pup she has ever had on a leash. I don’t pull at all and just want to stick by your side, with the leash always slack. If a dog barks at me, I will look at you for support and keep walking.
I have all my basic commands down pat and I have very good dog manners. I don’t jump for attention, but will place my head in your lap to ask for a scratch and a snuggle.
If you sit on the ground, I may just try and sit on your lap. I’m a bit of a lap dog and the ground is fair game in my eyes.
I am dog-friendly and would love a compatible canine playmate, preferably a dog around my size. I don't like cats, but am not reactive to livestock or horses.
My current foster home has children of all ages. I love to be included in their games - or just supervise them from the comfort of my favourite comfy spot. If there are kids around, I will never be far from them.
I love to go for drives in the car and would make a great adventuring/walking buddy. My foster Mum says I am a great shopping buddy. She’s very proud of me at Bunnings because I’m always on my best behaviour.
But my favourite activity is just chilling out at home with my favourite humans. ❤️
I would love a home where I am welcomed inside and included as part of daily life.
They say black dogs have the hardest time getting adopted, so I am trying my hardest to be the best boy I can possibly be.
My foster Mum tells me there is definitely someone out there for a loving couch potato like me. Could that be you?

Adoption details
Dogs:
(1) The first step is to complete the online adoption application form at https://southerndownsark.com.au/apply-to-adopt/ Please answer all questions and include photos of your yard and fencing.
(2) All applications will be considered by our Adoption Team, following which a "meet and greet" will be offered to the top-ranking applicant.
(3) If the “meet and greet" is successful, the applicant may adopt the dog and take him or her home the same day.
(4) For successful interstate applicants, different arrangements may apply and will be negotiated on a case-by-case basis.
Cats:
If you are interested in one of our cats or kittens, please click on the green "Enquire about ...", button, tell us a bit about yourself and the home you can offer the cat, and one of our volunteers will be in touch.
