About Skylar
Skylar is such a sweetheart, you can't help but fall in love with her instantly.
Skylar came to Paws & Recover for a temporary stay, however her former owner is no longer able to take her back due to his changed housing situation and personal circumstances.
Skylar is loving, happy and playful. This beautiful girl is incredibly smart and an absolute sweetheart. Her favourite things are squeaky balls, belly rubs and carrot sticks.
Skylar is high energy and loves running around the beach or dog park but also loves to chill at home, cuddling with you on the couch or lounging around the backyard.
Skylar is toilet trained and her recall is good. She politely sits and waits for meals and treats and doesn’t jump up on counters or people. She can pull on lead but this will improve with training. She is food motivated and a fast learner.
Skylar has so much love and affection to give and what she needs most of all is a forever family and a place where she knows she is home.
Skylar has been loved and cherished by her foster carers, who are sadly not in a position to adopt her (but would if they could!) She has already improved by leaps and bounds in care and will continue to flourish as her confidence grows. Although fearful and anxious when she first came to P&R, she has blossomed in care and is now a social butterfly in the dog park!
Although Skylar exhibited some nervous chewing behaviour being left alone (without human company) when she first came into care, this quickly improved as she became comfortable and confident in her surroundings.
Skylar's ideal forever home would be in a quiet neighbourhood, with a backyard to run around in and a back deck to lounge on as she loves to sit outside.
Skylar is great with other dogs and would do well with another happy, playful dog to show her the ropes. She could also be fine as a solo dog but ideally where someone is home most of the time.
Skylar can be wary of new people at first but warms up quickly. It is best that she meets all members of the household before an adoption proceeds.
Other dogs in the home are great but no cats. Also probably best if no small children as she can get quite excited when playing and doesn't realise her size.
People will stop you in the street to meet this gorgeous girl! Can you offer Skylar a safe and loving home?

Please be aware that Paws and Recover is run by volunteers who also work. We endeavour to answer enquires as quickly as possible. Some animals will inevitably be very popular and will generate many enquires. Where there is a high volume of enquires received, it will be our priority to contact those that best fit the requirements of the animal. This may mean that it is not possible for all enquires to be answered. Please keep an eye on the website for all updates.
Providing quality information as a part of your enquiry including information about your home environment, family, work hours, other pets and what you are looking for in a companion animal along with what you can offer one will greatly assist.
Please always provide a contact phone number as a part of your enquiry.
