About Honey
Please note: A wonderful, animal-loving person who wishes to remain anonymous and has stepped forward to sponsor the adoption fees for our beloved Honey! All you need to do is apply.
Hi, I’m Honey!
I may look like a cuddle bug now, but life wasn’t always easy. I spent days wandering the streets, scrounging for food, and no one came looking for me. After about two weeks on my own, I was finally spotted foraging in a small supermarket by one of our old fosters and she reached out to see if we could take her after no success finding her home.
I’m a sweet, affectionate girl who’s happiest when I have my own people to love. I adore snuggles and will happily curl up beside you—though sometimes I forget my size and think I’m a lap dog! I’m great with kids and excited to meet new people, though my playful energy might be a bit much for very little ones.
I’d love to be your only pet. I’m not a fan of sharing attention with other dogs and can get quite bossy if they don’t back down. Cats don’t bother me much—I mostly ignore them—but I really would prefer being the centre of your world.
Inside is my favourite place to be, and I settle well when crated at night, though a bit of white noise helps me drift off. I do have the occasional funny dream and might wiggle about while sleeping, but I promise I’m a good girl. During the day, I’m fine home alone for up to eight hours and can swing between couch-potato naps and playful bursts of energy.
I love tug-of-war, destroying stuffed toys, and chewing on a goat’s horn (I can get possessive of it, though). I’m smart, food-motivated, and learning quickly. Bells on the door help me know when it’s toilet time, and my recall is excellent when treats are involved. I walk nicely on a lead but I’m not a big fan of wearing a halti and am still learning to relax when other dogs are around.
⚠️ Important: I need a minimum 6-foot, fully secure fence—I’m agile and can easily surprise you with my jumping skills.
I’m healthy, eat Blackhawk food, and bring a big heart and a lot of love to the right home.
If you’re looking for a loyal best friend who will adore you completely, I can’t wait to meet you!
