Meet Floyd, a gorgeous 11-year-old Labrador x with a heart as big as his paws. This gentle giant isn’t just looking for a home, he’s looking for his person/people. Someone who’ll appreciate having a loving, loyal friend following them around, happy just to be part of your day.

Since coming into foster care, Floyd has been on a healthy diet and has been steadily losing weight. With each kilo gone, his playful side has blossomed. You’d never guess his age when you see his tail wag or his eyes light up for a game of fetch! He does have a bit of arthritis in his back legs, but it doesn’t slow him down.

Floyd is an absolute gentleman on the lead and knows all his basic commands. He adores belly rubs, naps (preferably within view of you), and being included in whatever you’re doing. Whether it’s pottering around the house, in the garden, or heading out for a coffee run, Floyd’s happiest place is simply by your side.

Because he forms such a strong bond with his humans, Floyd would love a home where someone is around most of the time, such as an active retiree or someone who works from home and enjoys having a constant companion. He’s calm and well-mannered indoors and settles beautifully at night, as long as he can see his people.

Floyd is friendly with everyone he meets, kids, adults, and other dogs, although he’d probably prefer a quieter home with no young children and where he can soak up all the love and attention he deserves. Regular gentle exercise will keep him happy, mobile, and content.
