Occy is named for his beautiful long scruffy locks - just like surfing champ Mr Occhilupo!
He's a handsome, dignified fellow. Loves a car ride and loves the ladies!
He’s not afraid to use his stunning good looks to woo a pretty girl. Canine or human! Occy is house trained and has good manners but “obedience training” is far beneath him and he prefers to demonstrate his companionship with his presence than with undignified stunts such as “sit” so if you’re looking for your next training prospect, move along…
Occy has been let down by people a few times and we will be very fussy about his new home. He needs someone who will not give up on him and people who will put in the effort to allow him to settle in.
Occy would like to have a little girl dog friend in his new home. Boy dogs need not apply sorry as Occy occasionally takes offence to sharing his space with some male dogs and may get grumpy and grumble. He’s ok out and about but annoying puppies or overzealous interlopers are given a piece of his mind. Being a mature little guy we would prefer there are no small children in his new home as he may not tolerate any grabbing by little hands. He loves teenagers and a busy family would suit him perfectly.
Occy loves to be with his people but is ok to be left home if needed, especially if he has the company of a furry friend. He’s an independent fellow and likes to watch the action of family life but isn’t a lap dog. Food is his favourite thing in the whole world! At dinner time he will spin circles to show his appreciation.
Occy will need regular maintenance of his silky coat with brushing and bathing. He also loves walking and needs daily exercise to keep him fit and stimulated, he will happily trot along for a 5km walk. Occy is in the prime of his life and isn’t a lap dog, although curling up on a familiar couch is exactly what he needs.
Our adoption process includes a two week trial period to ensure you and your adopted pet are the right fit. Successful applicants will be contacted for an interview and a property inspection (as it is vital we rehome our animals to a safe, secure and suitable home).
The adoption fee of $500 assists to cover the costs of desexing, microchip, microchip ownership transfer, flea and worm treatment, vaccinations, vet check and other vet care as required.
