About Lucky
Sweet Lucky came to us all out of luck.
This handsome 2yr/8mth old black & tan Kelpie boy was left behind at a property and taken to the pound by neighbours. After a month in the pound, with no one wanting to adopt him, he was scheduled for euthanasia.
His ‘luck’ changed at the very final hour and he got a chance to change his destiny!!
Lucky is very sweet and smoochy but he is a bit of a shy guy to begin with. He just hasn't seen much of the world and therefore thrives in an environment with a daily routine and certainty. He is eager to please and, once he builds trust, you become the light of his life! He is the kind of dog that likes to have his humans around more often than not.
He shows affection by burying his head into you and adores a chin scratch! He also shows his comical side by dancing around and play bowing to you.
He has mingled harmoniously with his kelpie foster brothers, and is pals with an elderly Corgi, but mostly just keeps one eye on what the humans are doing. Lucky would be absolutely fine in a solo dog home as he doesn’t really seem to actively seek out the company of other dogs.
He is crate trained and spends a large portion of the day napping. He hasn't really exhibited the typical high energy Kelpie traits while in foster care. He actually makes a wonderful WFH buddy as he just snoozes while you work! The kid looooves a nap!!
Lucky is looking for a home where he can be your daily sidekick. He needs an adopter that understands the breed, will offer him patience while he gets to know you and is willing to work on some confidence building and basic training. He has shown in foster care that he has the potential to be a wonderful family companion and he deserves the right human to do this for him!!

We will then request to complete a yard check, or for you to send in photos of your yard showing the fencing, space, shelter and any hazards etc, to confirm it is safe and secure, as well as adequate space for a working breed dog.
Following this, we will then put you in touch with the dog/s foster carer/s that you are interested in, to chat further over the phone, about whether the dog is a good fit for your family, and vice versa.
