About Bear
Introducing Bear, a two-year-old British Bulldog with an outgoing and affectionate nature. Read on and you'll find out why it's impossible not to fall in love with this charming boy.
Born on 26 November 2022, Bear weighs a handy 24.8 kgs.
He came to us from the pound with a nasty case of bilateral "cherry eye", a relatively common condition in Bulldogs that is not life-threatening, but can cause serious discomfort and secondary eye infections. Following surgery at a cost of $1,695.40, we're happy to say that our vet has given Bear a clean bill of health.
Despite the surgery and a lengthy period of recouperation, Bear's sunny disposition is intact. Friendly and outgoing, he's the ultimate canine companion, always eager to be in the spotlight and bring gentle joy to those around him with his special mild-mannered Bulldog charm.
He loves humans but has had no exposure to children since being in care.
He also loves car rides and walks nicely on leash.
He is dog-friendly, but untested with cats.
Bear's ideal home will have air-conditioning, as Bulldogs are not built for the heat and humidity of an Australian summer. His humans will be prepared for potential drooling, gentle snoring and daily facial grooming.
He will be a good match for someone who enjoys quiet companionship and a gentle stroll in the cool of the early morning or evening. He will thrive on social interaction when he's out and about and will welcome visitors to his home. He will not enjoy being left alone for extended periods.
