Meet little Johnny, this sweet boy arrived into our care through no fault of his own, extremely frightened and confused as to why he had landed at the pound.

Little Johnny is estimated to be around 12 - 18mths of age and likely a Chihuahua x Mini Dachshund mix. He’s only a little guy weighing roughly 6kg.

This sweet boy we imagine is going to be the perfect little guy many families have been waiting to find, however, Johnny is searching for a specific home and is not suited to families with children under 16 years of age or older/senior families.

This little dude is a sweetheart, he is desperate to be loved and will try and climb into your lap and on your shoulder once he feels comfortable with you, which doesn’t take long for him to come around, however, it is very evident that Johnny has lacked exposure and boundaries. He was not microchipped upon arrival and it would be fair to say he has never been to a vet or groomers, as a result, he can become fearful with handling he is not used and or confused by.

Johnny requires a family who are going to be patient, give him the time and support he needs, has some experience in understanding dog behaviour, desensitisation and exposure therapy - is willing to continue to work with him and with trainers where necessary. He is otherwise an extremely affectionate young boy, confident within himself and has a great capacity to grow and leave this fear in the past quickly, as he has started to show us.

Johnny’s adoption fee is $550, this includes - microchip, desexing, lifetime registration, vaccination, flea and worming.
