Meet Max, a delightful Kelpie x Shepherd mix who is all set to become the perfect companion for an enthusiastic family. At 7 years old and weighing in at 26 kg, Max is lively yet perfectly manageable, making him a wonderful match for those who appreciate the unbeatable combination of energy and grace. He's desexed, chipped, vaccinated, and wormed—all ready for his next adventure with you!
Max has an abundance of love to share and is exceptionally kid-friendly. He is also a real man’s dog, and has a lot of affection for men. His playful nature and gentle spirit make him a hit with children, and he thrives in a family environment where he is involved in all the fun. With his keen intelligence and quick learning ability, Max has been well house-trained, ensuring a harmonious blend into any household.
Max loves to be outside , so if you have a nice big outdoor area or verandah, then that’s where is happiest. A big acreage would really suit him.
Max is very sociable with other dogs, making him a great addition to a home with existing pets. He would be delighted to have a canine pal to play with, as long as they share his enthusiasm for playful romps and backyard games. He thrives in environments that offer ample secure outdoor space in Helensvale on the Gold Coast, so a secure fence is important to keep him safe during his outdoor explorations. He is not, however, cat friendly.
Adventure enthusiasts will find their perfect match in Max. Although he shouldn't live with cats, his loyalty to his human friends is unwavering, and he is always ready for a game of fetch or a long walk. For an adoption fee of $395, you'll gain not just a pet but a valued family member eager to make life more fun and vibrant.
If you're ready for an exciting journey with a faithful friend like Max, he's waiting for you in Indooroopilly

Here are some quick tips to make your APPLICATION stand out:
Include as many details as you can about your lifestyle, family, accommodation, and work. Here’s some first-hand feedback from our member rescue organisations about what they'd like to see in your applications:
🐱 Why would this animal suit your home? (This lets them know that you've read the pet’s bio and considered their personality vs. your lifestyle)
🐾 Details about your family
🏡 Is your home quiet/relaxed or loud/busy? (Particularly important for timid cats). Ask questions, to show your are interested in the animals ell being.
Add questions into the application.
Fill out the profiles of your current pets if you have any. Understanding the personality of resident cats and dogs will help rescue organisations or foster carers determine if the pet will adjust to your surroundings.
Remember to be respectful and kind in your enquiries. A simple greeting can go a long way! Behind that screen is a real hooman, who loves and cares for the pet you're enquiring about just as much as you will!
Be open and honest - rescues prefer having as much information as they can about potential adopters.
An adoption fee applies to each animal to cover only the basic veterinary procedures, and each adoption goes out on a 21 day settling in period, if the dog is returned in this period, and you’ve spoken to our trainer for assistance, and the dog is returned in good health, mentally and physically, and all their belongings and paperwork are returned, then we provide a refund less $50 admin fee (per dog) . This is not a trial, but in case of any unknown or unforeseen circumstances.
The adoption process is as follows
✅Everyone that lives in the home will meet the dog with the carer
✅We ask everyone go home again and discuss and think about overnight and contact us the next day
✅This also gives the carer a chance to think about suitability
✅Then if everyone agrees we then require a home inspection, or at least photos of the home yard and fences.
✅Then the adoption fee is paid and once that clears our account you are free to arrange with the carer to collect
✅The adoption paperwork comes out in 14 days in which time you are required to register and change chip over
