About Diego
Meet Diego - Your Future Pocket Rocket Companion! đŸ
Looking for his forever home
Cavoodle
Age: 1 year, 9 months
Diego is a spirited young Cavoodle with a heart full of love and a zest for life. Despite a rocky start, this pocket rocket is ready to launch into a brighter future with a family who sees his potential and is ready to help him thrive.
Diego is still learning the ropes of being a well-mannered house dog. He's working on toilet training and learning to feel safe when left alone, so he'll need a patient and inclusive home that's committed to his ongoing training and emotional growth. Although no longer a puppy, any new home will have to be ready to start from scratch with this little fella.
Importantly, Diego isn't suited to novice Cavoodle keepers. He would benefit greatly from new owners with breed-specific knowledge and/or experience in behavioural modification training to ensure he starts off on the right foot and continues to grow into a confident, well-adjusted companion.
What Makes Diego Special:
Dog Social: Diego would greatly benefit from the company of another dog
Formed a beautiful bond with teenage children during a short foster stay and would be suitable to live with similar aged children.
Bed Buddy: Loves snuggling in at night - but during the day, he's all about adventure and cheeky fun!
Young at Heart: Mischievous, curious, and full of energy - Diego still has that puppy spark and a nose for trouble that'll keep you on your toes.
What Diego Needs:
A home willing to invest time and consistency into training.
A family that understands the needs of a dog who's still learning to settle and find his confidence.
Daily exercise and mental stimulation to keep his clever mind engaged.
Lots of love, patience, and a sense of humour for his cheeky antics!
Support for Diego's New Family:
Adopting Diego means you won't be doing it alone. His new family will receive:
Access to Petcademy Behavioral Services - a 24/7 consultancy program.
Ongoing support from BARC to help Diego settle and succeed.
If you're ready to welcome a loving, lively companion into your life and help him blossom into the best version of himself, Diego might just be your perfect match.
To adopt Diego today - and give this little rocket the launchpad he deserves - please contact BARC on 5441-2209 or email barcreception@bendigo.vic.gov.au

Adoption details
BARC adoption officers will work with you to help you find a dog or cat that matches your needs, they will discuss things like yard fencing, exercise requirements, other pets and family members, lifestyle factors, and breed experience. To help make this as quick and easy as possible, we ask you complete and adoption questionnaire (located on our website, or you can complete on when you visit). This helps ensure that we are introducing you to the most suitable animals we have available.
We encourage all members of the household to attend a meet and greet with a pet prior to adopting an animal. If the animal being adopted is a dog, we will also require existing dogs in the household to attend the shelter as part of the meet and greet.
Holds can not be placed on animals over the phone, and can only be applied at the discretion of management.
