About Bobbie
Little Maltese x Shih Tzu Bobbie is now seeking his forever family
Bobbi is an endearing little fellow with a personality that can only be described as cheerful and carefree. His disposition is truly happy-go-lucky, and he has an innate ability to bring joy and warmth to any environment he enters. With his sweet nature and infectious enthusiasm, Bobbie is sure to win the hearts of everyone he meets.
Bobbie absolutely thrives on being around people and thoroughly enjoys playing with his assortment of toys. He is particularly fond of interactive games, especially when someone engages him in a game of fetch.
Additionally, Bobbie loves going for walks, where he can explore the world around him and soak in the sights and smells.
Bobbie is wonderful with all humans and has a strong desire for affection and playtime. While he may initially be a bit cautious in unfamiliar environments or around new people, he quickly warms up and becomes his usual friendly self.
He has previously lived with children and has shown to be a great companion for them.
Bobbie has had minimal formal training, so he will benefit from a family that is willing to invest time and effort into teaching him. His foster family has already started working on some basic commands such as “sit” and “come,” laying a foundation for further training. Being a young pup, Bobbie is still learning the house rules and, like many young dogs, can occasionally get into mischief by stealing items.
Due to his tendency to be a bit jumpy, he may not be best suited for homes with very small children.
Animal Social Skills: Bobbie is curious and playful when it comes to interacting with other dogs.
As a young pup, he is still learning the appropriate ways to play and approach other dogs. He can be a bit exuberant when meeting new canine friends but would greatly benefit from having a playful companion to interact with regularly.
Bobbie is capable of staying home alone while his caregivers are at work, provided he has some toys to keep him entertained. During the initial settling-in period, he may bark a little, but he generally copes well with being left alone.
Bobbie is not a picky eater and enjoys a variety of foods. He likes dry food but also appreciates meals that include chicken and rice. However, he seems to have a slightly sensitive stomach, so it is advisable to keep his diet relatively simple and avoid experimenting with too many new foods. Currently, he is being fed twice a day on high quality dry food.
Bobbie has a low-shedding coat that requires regular grooming to prevent matting. He recently had a grooming session, which is suitable for the summer months but please be mindful his coat will grow long . Although he arrived without being fully toilet trained, he is now showing good control with only the occasional accident. Initially, he may attempt to mark his territory in a new home.
Bobbie sleeps well in his playpen and prefers to rest in his bed inside his crate, surrounded by cozy blankets.
He generally sleeps through the night and will let you know in the morning when he needs to go outside for a bathroom break.
Car Travel: Bobbie is still getting use to car travel so may whine a bit during the journey, but he does manage to travel without any major issues.
Bobbie loves his daily walks and can get quite excited, often zigzagging as he explores. He thoroughly enjoys what can only be described as a “sniffathon,” taking in all the scents around him.
Regular exercise is essential for Bobbie, as it helps him burn off energy and keeps him happy and healthy.
Bobbi is an affectionate guy who loves nothing more than snuggling in your lap or beside you on the couch. Being a young pup, Bobbie still requires supervision when inside the home and should not be left unsupervised when people are not present. He does settle well in his playpen area at night
Ideal Home: Given his age and energetic nature, Bobbie would thrive in a home where he receives plenty of attention and there is always something happening. He would benefit from a family that includes him in their activities and takes him on outings. Regular walks and playtime are essential for him. Bobbie would do well in a household with children and would love to have another dog as a companion.
He needs the minimum of a small yard to run around in and play with his ball A home with some dog experience is required as he need ongoing training to bring out the best in this adorable pooch
