Meet Lily,
Lily is a cat who knows exactly who she is and isn’t afraid to let you know it! With her proud stance and sophisticated air, Lily carries herself like royalty. Lily may be better suited to experienced owners who appreciate a cat with personality and flair, though first-time owners willing to learn her ways could also be a match, too.
She’s not shy about telling you how she feels, whether with her expressive looks or her quirky little love bites (don’t worry, there’s no malice – just her unique way of interacting with you).
When she’s not perched in her condo surveying her “kingdom,” Lily is radiating calm, confidence, and a quiet kind of affection that’s all her own. If you’re ready to respect her boundaries and love her for who she is, Lily will reward you with a bond like no other.
Lily is an independent soul, content with her own company, yet affectionate in ways that are truly unique to her, and has a quiet presence – apart from the occasional hiss to remind you she’s the boss.
She’s happy to meet respectful kids from 8 years and up who understand she’s more queen than cat. On her own terms, she’ll allow you to pick her up, cuddle her, and scratch her ears – and when she decides you’re “her people,” the bond she creates will be unshakable.
As we cannot test in this environment, we are unsure how Lily would go living with dogs. This would be up to the discretion of her new owners.
As for cats, Lily would do best as the only adult cat in the household, though she’s tolerated kittens that she has met in the cattery.
We always encourage cats to be indoor cats. Lily has already experienced living on the streets and she enjoys being inside where she feels safe. If she is outside, it will increase her chances of running away, getting lost, injured, or worse. As an inside cat she can live her best life possible. Having come to us as a stray with a leg injury, it’s no surprise Lily can be a little guarded, but her resilience shines through.
Lily has low-range energy level, and while she’s not overly playful, she does enjoy the occasional feather toy play session if you join in, too.
Lily is not fussy with food, never says no to a treat or two and always uses her litter tray - however open litter trays are her preference.
Staff Comments: Lily is a sweet and affectionate cat, but knows her limits and won't shy away from letting you know. She's not mean by any chance, she is a cat who knows her worth and knows what she likes and doesn't like. She is a sassy queen, and we love this about her!

Medical notes
Lily came in to us as a stray with an injury to her leg. She was seen by a local vet who clipped the area around the injury, cleaned and flushed the wound and stitched her up. She has been seen by our in-house vet twice and she has been given the all clear - the wound does not have any ongoing issues.

With all animals it’s important to understand that going into a new environment with new people may not be as flawless as we want it to be. It’s important to know that these animals have unknown histories. Most left in the shelter by their owners. The information we receive is from observing the animal’s behaviours & reactions to certain stimuli whilst in our care. Adopted animals can take up to 3 months to properly decompress from post-shelter life & a lot of behaviours & quirks will surface during this time. All that we ask is that their new owners have an open mind & are patient.
So please keep in touch with us after adoption so that we can help you settle your new family member in and address any unexpected behaviours.
