About Luigi
Meet Luigi! A sometimes reserved but extremely sweet dude, who can do zoomies like no other.
Luigi is a bit nervous upon meeting him, but a super affectionate guy – he takes a minute or two to warm up, but once he is your friend you’ll be guilted into patting him forever. He has a lovely personality, but sometimes the big wide world is a little much for him to cope with. So, we are looking for a family to Foster (Or adopt if it’s a perfect fit) to help him grow in confidence, and will be patient to give him time to grow his confidence.
Luigi would love to live with another older playful but confident dog. He can get caught up with givings his affections, but will accept another dog directing him how to behave, he is a pleaser. With other dogs he has nothing but love eyes – he reckons he can please everyone and hasn’t shown any signs of aggression – so we are looking for a confident dog that is happy to communicate when enough is enough, and his new humans will need to work with him the first few days to stop this. Once he learns to be polite, he is a perfect companion.
Luigi needs an assertive but compassionate human as this helps him cope with his reserved behaviour. When he knows his human has his back, he can confidently meet humans and dogs quite nicely. There is some ongoing work needed on his engagement and leash training, but as a very food motivated dog – training is no issue!
Luigi travels well in the car, but can be vocal when seeing other dogs – this has decreased whilst he has been in care. He is very much “family” orientated, but doesn’t show any signs of separation anxiety, and is happy to spend time outside on his own, with minimal barking, especially if he has a dog companion!
Luigi is a big fan of cuddles on the couch – but caution must be given, it starts as a cuddle, but he will happily lay on-top of you. He is also a big fan of “giving back” whether that is a bit of fluff, a sock or sometimes a shoe he is always wanting to please by presenting gifts (whether you want them or not lol).
He comes with the on-going rescue funded support of a Trainer he has been living with to help him grow in confidence.
We are looking for a home that allows Luigi inside, has another older dog (ideally same size or bigger), and no children under 12. Whilst he hasn’t shown any issues at all with children, he is learning his size and when he gets zoomies it can be intense. He comes fully crate & house trained. A no cat or pocket-pet household is needed as we have not been able to assess this.
Luigi requires the following in his new home:
- A suitable desexed female dog.
- To have the option to spend time inside with his family when they are home and to sleep at night.
- Gentle exposure around loud noises and meeting new people.
- No children under 5 or children that create loud sudden noises.
- continued training to walk nicely on lead.

Adoption details
Please note- we do not work on a first in best dressed basis, we assess all applications to choose the home that we believe will best match the animal.
If you believe one of our animals would be a good match for your home please send us a detailed email us with some information about the people and any other animals in your home as well as the type of lifestyle you can offer a new rescue pet.
We are volunteerswho run the rescue around families, paid employment and other commitments so your patience is appreciated.
We do require you to travel to meet the animal you are looking to adopt. For dog adoptions, any other dogs in your home musr attend the meet and greet, this enables us to assess their compatibility and helps prevent them being returned and creating more confusion/insecurities for the foster animal.
We reserve the right to refuse the adoption if we don't believe it's a good match for our animals.
All our animals are available for a two week trial with full refund. They are also covered by a lifetime return policy. If you ever find yourself unable to care for or keep your pet please contact us and they will come back into our care or we will assist you in finding them a suitable new home, this is a condition thst you agree to when signing our Adoption Agreement.
