About Kaeru
Say hello to Kaeru — the bright, chatty lad who’s halfway to house-cat heaven and looking for the right human to cheer him on.
Kaeru may have started life outdoors, but you’d never guess it from how quickly he’s embraced the comforts of home. He’s clever, curious and hilariously conversational — the kind of cat who will follow you from room to room giving lively updates on… well, everything. If you’ve ever wanted a furry co-host for your daily routines, Kaeru is ready to take the mic.
He’s not a lap-sitter (yet!), and he prefers keeping all four paws planted, but he’s deeply affectionate in his own thoughtful ways. Expect gentle head bumps, soft “hello?” chats, and a little shadow who chooses to be wherever you are. Connection is important to him, he’s just learning what that looks like.
Kaeru is still working out the finer points of indoor life and play. Sometimes his enthusiasm spills over and he might give an excited nip — think spirited kitten energy, not malice. He’ll thrive with someone who understands (or is keen to learn) cat cues, and who can help guide him with kindness, enrichment, and his absolute weakness: treats. Seriously, this boy would do just about anything for a Churu.
His days are full of curiosity and fun: active playtime, window-watching marathons, inspecting whatever project you’re tackling, and keeping up a running commentary. He’s lived with other cats before and might enjoy a feline buddy again with slow, patient introductions.
Kaeru is a sensitive, intelligent boy who’s made huge progress already. Watching him open up, trust, and find his place is genuinely special — the kind of bond that grows deeper with every small victory.
If you’re looking for a chatty companion with a big brain, a bigger heart, and a truly endearing spark, Kaeru is ready to keep learning, growing and adventuring by your side.

Adoption details
When enquiring about a pet listed with Home2Home, your enquiry goes directly to the pet’s guardian—the person who knows them best!
From here, the guardian will be in touch to learn more about you and chat with you about their pet. It’s a great opportunity for you to ask any questions you may have about the pet, including its likes and dislikes, needs, and how it may fit into your lifestyle and family.
If your home and lifestyle match the pet's needs, the next step will be arranging a meet-and-greet to make sure everyone is happy to proceed with a formal adoption.
Following the adoption, change of ownership paperwork will be completed, and proof of vaccination, microchipping, and desexing (if applicable, as indicated on the listing) will be provided.
All pets adopted through Home2Home will require an adoption contract to be signed and an adoption fee to be paid. The pet’s guardian will complete the adoption contract with you and provide a link to PetRescue’s secure payment portal for completing the adoption fee payment.
Home2Home currently operates a ‘pay what you choose’ system for cat adoption fees. This means that adopters will be able to choose an adoption fee amount that is suitable for them. All adoption fees are used to support PetRescue's life-saving programs, including Home2Home.
