About Toby (66952)
Toby came to GAWS through no fault of his own and has proven to be a fun, affectionate dog with a few quirks that are very manageable with the right home. He is housetrained and eager to please, with strong food motivation that makes training enjoyable. Toby can pull on lead, though he walks much more comfortably on a harness. He also has a cheeky streak and can be quite invested in his toys-or in things he'd prefer weren't taken from him-but he has shown he is responsive and willing to learn with consistent guidance. Toby would be best suited to a home with previous dog experience and some basic training knowledge. He has been social during assessments with other dogs, so a well-matched canine companion could be an option, though he would also be very happy as the only dog in the home. Toby is not suited to living with young children, as he is still learning to keep all four paws on the ground when excited. He has no known history with cats. Toby will thrive with a family who can continue his training, provide structure, and enjoy his playful personality. In the right home, he has all the makings of a loyal and much-loved companion.
