Ever wanted to adopt a baby hippopotamus? Buddy may be the dog for you!

Buddy, who we've been affectionately calling "Hippo", is a snuggly and affectionate boy who loves nothing more than finding a sunny spot, or a on the couch to curl up with his people. At night he’s happy to settle into his crate after a little encouragement, though he’d happily keep you company in bed if allowed.

Playtime is one of Buddy’s favourite things, and he would be really great with a dog of similar size who can match his rough-and-tumble energy, as long as they're happy to deal with his antics. He’s still learning his own strength, so he’ll do best in a home without smaller dogs, but he’s making great progress in understanding boundaries and when it’s time to take a break or be more gentle.

Buddy walks beautifully on his harness and greets everyone he meets, human or canine, with a wagging tail and that classic big staffy smile. He’s also a clever, eager-to-learn pup who has already picked up crate training and is working on his table manners around human food! He'll do just about anything for a treat.

Buddy is ready for his forever home, and to bring you as much joy as he's been bringing us.
