Meet Bernie the 2nd, an endearingly sweet feline who's looking for a patient and loving home. This gentle boy may initially come across as a tad timid, but once he warms up, Bernie will be a loyal companion who will melt your heart with his affectionate nature.
Bernie is named after a previous rescue cat we had, reminiscent in appearance to Bernie but brimming with his own unique, charming personality. He's missing some fur on his nose and above his eye after trying to nose open the trap he was in.
He's an excellent match for a household that can offer him patience, respect, and understanding as he adjusts to his new surroundings. Bernie flourishes in a calm and stable environment where his gentleness can truly shine. Once he's comfortable, his endearing demeanor is sure to bring warmth and joy to your life.
With his unique past and equally unique personality, Bernie is eager to join a family that appreciates the charm of a rescue cat with a story to tell. Open your heart and home to this distinctive cat, and Bernie will show his gratitude in the most loving of ways.
Located in Cranbourne
As of 1st August 2025, our adoption fees will be adjusted to help cover rising vet and care costs. The new fees are as follows:
Kittens (1 vaccination): $400
Kittens (2 vaccinations): $450
Adult & Adolescent Cats (9+ months): $280
Breed cats will be listed with a separate adoption fee based on their individual profile.
Change of ownership is included in the adoption fee.
Thank you for your ongoing support in helping us care for and rehome the many cats and kittens that come through our rescue.
All 2nd Chance Cat Rescue cats are desexed, microchipped, vaccinated, flea and worm treated and come with a take home pack. We transfer the change of Ownership free of charge into your name.

Adoption details
ADOPTION QUESTIONNAIRE
We ask that you complete an Adoption Questionnaire before we make arrangements for you to meet a cat or kitten. This is to ensure that we find the best possible match for you and the cats/kittens in our care.
PROCEDURE
1. Complete the online application by following http://www.2ndchancecatrescue.com.au/adopting/adoption-form
2. If your application is successful, we will contact you to arrange a meet and greet.
Please note that the adoption fee as stated on the cat's profile is required on the day of adoption and we accept cash bank transfer or Pay ID.

2nd Chance Cat Rescue is a home-based rescue group and most of our volunteers are working full-time so we hope that you understand that it may take 1-2 days to get back to you.
