About Tucker
Meet Benson Boone, a gentle soul with a tender heart who's looking for a patient and loving forever home. Benson has had a rough start in life, and as a result, he's understandably very shy and cautious around new people and environments.
He's not the kind of cat who will immediately greet you at the door - earning Benson's trust takes time, but for those willing to go slow and let him set the pace, the reward is a deeply loyal and sweet companion.
Benson will thrive in a calm, quiet home where he can begin his new life in a safe room, giving him the space and time he needs to adjust gradually to his surroundings. Once he feels secure, he can be slowly introduced to the rest of the home and new people, always with patience and understanding, and with lots of hidey holes set up for him.
Due to his beautiful but high-maintenance coat, regular grooming is a must - but this will need to be built up slowly, with positive reinforcement and gentle handling, as grooming may be unfamiliar or even stressful at first.
If you're someone with a kind heart and the patience to let a shy cat blossom in his own time, Benson could be the perfect companion for you.
Adoption details
Our adoption process is designed to match you with the right pet, the first time. Our team are experts at rehoming animals who have specific needs that match your lifestyle, to ensure every adoption placement will last a lifetime.
At our Peninsula site, adoption hours are 12pm – 4pm. You are welcome to attend our reception office without an appointment to begin our adoption process during adoption hours.
The adoption areas are not free to walk through, and you will need to chat with our staff to confirm that a potential adoption is a good match.
Once the adoption has been discussed, a staff member will facilitate a walk-through of the adoption areas or have an animal brought to you in a greeting area.
