On Hold
About Matisse - 8 Week Old Maltese X
Matisse is a beautiful Blonde Princess who already makes you laugh with her playfulness and spirit. She loves her cuddles and to be comforted often as she is still very young and small. She is also your typical puppy who is learning her way through life, experimenting, tasting, testing everything.
Matisse has ears where the tips fold backwards, so she has them taped forward (by the vet’s recommendation) so that they might grow forward to protect her ear canals from getting sunburnt. Taping the ear may or may not work but it’s worth a try. She will need a family who is committed to continue to tape her ears and monitor them over the next month or so.
Matisse needs a family who is fully committed to putting lots of time, attention and training into her, so she grows to have manners, be balanced, happy, friendly and sociable. She will need toilet training and lead training, good recall and maybe some tricks.
Matisse sleeps in her bed all night long with her sibling, this might change with the big change of a new home, depending on her new environment, if her belly is full and she feels safe and secure.
She uses pee pads well but of course needs more toilet training and a doggy door will help with this.
She has a wash and wear coat and will need her nails trimmed regularly.
As Matisse is very small and weighs 1.2kg we ask for kids to be over 8 years of age please.
His life expectancy is up to 16 years.
Matisse in brief:
* Weight 1.2kg
* Kids over 8
* Would like a family home often
* Would like a play mate but not necessary
* Doggy door to continue toilet training
* Yard to run and exercise in
* Vaccinated, worm, flea treated
* Needs a safe and secure yard without small gaps
* Not tested on cats, bunnies, birds
Her adoption fee is $1300, which includes desexing when she is old enough. It also includes her first two vaccinations. She has been treated for fleas and worms, and is microchipped.
She is in foster care in Cameron Park, NSW. Since not yet desexed, she is only available for adoption to the Lower Hunter region (Newcastle, Lake Macquarie, Port Stephens, Maitland and Cessnock) plus Central Coast and Sydney. She'll need to be returned to one of our approved vets for desexing by 6 months old.
