About Carol
Are you looking for a best friend – someone that is happy to be in your personal space one moment and then off doing their own thing the next?
If the answer is yes – then look no further – Meet me - I’m Carol, the 4 year and 9 months old Pug!
I currently weigh 7.9kgs
I have come into care as a retired breeding dog, and the rescue has done all the vet work to ensure no more babies for me and ready for my furever home!
My foster mum said it took her a minute to get used to my name, as she said it sounded like she was calling a human, but it has now grown on her and she often smiles when she talks about me (carol did this or carol did that and people get confused for a second - she says it makes her smile!)
My foster mum says I am one of the happiest dogs we have ever seen come into care and love human company.
I came into care and the rescue was told that I wasn't great with other dogs - so after a few days to settle the rescue started to introduce me to other dogs - I currently live with a few (Neo mastiff, Maltese, poodles and French bulldogs and I'm really good with all of them, but I did meet another pug and was a bit reactive to her so I'm a bit of a contradiction there!
I happily hang out with two Frenchie's (one is bat oops crazy) and the other is very submissive and a miniature poodle who is submissive and an elderly Maltese boy who often grumbles at me when I accidentally run over him while he is sleeping as I'm playing chase or when I just walk past cause he's old and grumpy and seems to love telling me he's the boss
I love to wrestle with one of the Frenchie's and play chase with her (or she with me somedays no one knows who the chaser is :-) ) and I love to snuggle at night with them on a dog bed or thru the day and then other times I like to sleep in my own dog bed so I just potter off.
I would love another dog to hang with or two, but they can't be really bossy (and no pugs!) but if not, I would love a person who is home more often than not that can hang with me and take me places and just be my bff!
I am not tested on cats, but my foster mum thinks I will probably chase them.
I love to tell the birds that come on the driveway off and I do a pug oomp that I can do - my foster mum says though when she calls my name I do stop but will continue to wag my tail.
I don't know how to walk on a lead but will happily accompany you on car trips and would probably have fun learning to walk on a lead (weather and temperatures permitting) i am treat motivated so that is a huge help.
I absolutely love lying with my humans on the couch watching tv or on the bed but be warned a few zoomies and belly rubbing does need to occur before I settle.
I love been around children (have been hanging out with a 10-year-old) and let face it what is not to love about them – they give you cuddles and attention and let you hang out with them – I can live with that!
My ideal home will be with someone who is home more often than not or who works from home – I’m still young so I would like to be a part of my families’ lives.
My foster mum works from home and I spend my days either sleeping in her office next to her or off exploring do my own thing in the house and yard and coming back and making sure she is earning the bikkie money! I wouldn't like to be home 8+ hrs a day by myself but can do a few each day with no issues.
My foster mum says I have this thing called FOMO (Fear of Missing out) so if you're ever doing something don't stress, I will be there right there with you, and I mean right there with you! I will be your shadow!
My foster mum says also the key to me doing things and learning is food - apparently, I'm something like 1000% food motivated - hey look at me an over achiever!!!!
I can be quiet when I first go somewhere new and then it's like my foster mum finds the switch and then i become a happy fun-loving pug who just loves life and I go from being a calm snoozing pug to then a playful happy belly scratching wiggling pug which my foster mum says is just so cute to see!
I have a shiny black coat so air conditioning and access to inside is a must (oh yeah and of course my squishy nose breed means air conditioning, air conditioning, air conditioning!)
So, if you're looking for your new best friend then pick me!

Approved applicants will be contacted to arrange a time for a meet & greet via email. You must bring your current dog along to the meeting if you are meeting another dog/puppy, this is to ensure they get along before commencing adoption - proof of your dogs up-to-date vaccination is required before any meet and greet is arranged.
