About Tilda
Meet Tilda, a clever and active 1.5 year old kelpie x border collie girl. She's happy, energetic and eager to learn.
Tilda has great basic training, she can sit, stay, wait patiently for her dinner, is crate trained, walks on a lead, is house trained and has solid recall. She loves her daily walks around the farm with the pack of 6 other kelpies, and stays nearby while running back and forth, sniffing and adventuring. She can get a bit too excited chasing bunnies through the paddocks. Otherwise, her recall is very good. She enjoys riding in the car, or jumping on the ute for an adventure.
She is super smart and loves training and learning new things. Tilda has been in foster care with two young kids and is fine with them, and gets along well with other energetic dogs. She is a chase and play kind of dog and can be too intense for some dogs who don't appreciate this level of play. She is respectful to dogs older than her and takes their cues well.
Tilda can scale all kinds of 6 foot fences, by jumping and climbing, and unfortunately this habit was deeply formed prior to her coming to care. As such, she needs a home where she can be safely secured when no one is home, and where she can spend a lot of her time with her humans.
She needs an experienced person who can continue on with her training, and who is able to implement consistent and firm boundaries; she is the kind of dog if given an inch, she will take a mile. She would suit going as an only dog, or to a home with another dog or two if their temperament was a good match for hers, as detailed above.
