About Midge
🌸 Meet Midge – A Calico Queen with a Gentle Heart 🌸
With her soft patchwork coat, expressive eyes, and even a signature crinkled whisker, Midge is as unique as they come. This affectionate yet independent girl has blossomed in foster care and is now ready to find her forever throne.
Midge is the kind of kitty who knows how to strike the purr-fect balance between companionship and independence. She adores head and neck scratches, curling up on a cozy bed, and doing her famous post-dinner zoomies before settling in for the night. You’ll often find her perched by the window or on top of her cat tree, watching the world go by, or curled up with her crew at bedtime.
She may take a few days to trust, but once she does, her gentle nature shines through. She’s wonderfully tolerant of other pets—even her boisterous big dog foster brother!
Midge is patient, peaceful, and has never once raised a paw in anger.
💖 Midge’s Likes:
Head scratches galore
Wet food (the more the merrier!)
Zoomies and toy time
Warm naps on her electric heating pad
Watching the world through big windows
🚫 Not So Keen On:
Waiting for meals (who is?)
Too much dry food
Sudden reaches from strangers
Midge’s ideal home would be an indoor-only household with adopters who understand that the best bonds take time. She’d suit someone with a busy lifestyle or full-time work, as she’s perfectly capable of entertaining herself—then joining you for affection when she’s ready.
She may be little in name, but when it comes to love, trust, and companionship, Midge is mighty. Could she be the gentle, affectionate calico you’ve been waiting for?

Adoption details
ADOPTION PROCESS:
1. An Adoption enquiry should be made via
https://form.jotform.com/shellys.place.rescue/adoption-enquiry
2. Once your application has been received, one of our volunteers will contact you for a phone interview. This is to determine whether one of our cats or kittens will be a good fit for your home. We all want long-term success in placing rescue animals, so finding the best fit for the animal AND the family is very important.
3. 'Meet & Greet' with the animal and their carer will then take place if the application is approved.
4. A property check will take place via a video. Once this has been successfully completed, adoption paperwork finalised and the adoption donation processed, the pet can be collected from foster care.
5. A 14 day settling-in period commences once the animal has been collected from foster care.
6. Adoption is finalised after 14 days. Paperwork/records will be included in an adoption pack.
7. All animals will be rehomed desexed, 1st vaccinated, microchipped and treated monthly for fleas and intestinal worms. Once the adoption is finalised, the new owners are responsible for all vaccinations and preventative treatments.
As we are run entirely of volunteers we endeavour to respond to your enquiry as soon as we can. Your patience is greatly appreciated.
PLEASE NOTE: We are unable to hold any animals. Please only apply if you are ready to adopt now.
