About Thor
Thor is an exuberant and lively young yellow Labrador with a heart as gentle as it is big.
This spirited and energetic pup is now eagerly ready to embark on the next exciting chapter of his life, hoping to find a forever family who will cherish and love him unconditionally.
Thor’s favorite things in life are a true testament to his joyful and playful nature. He absolutely adores the company of other dogs and thrives in environments where he has canine friends to play with and interact with on a regular basis.
His love for food is undeniable and makes him highly food-driven, which in turn makes training sessions both easy and enjoyable for him and his trainers.
Thor has a particular passion for sniffing during his walks, which is one of his absolute favorite activities, allowing him to explore the world around him with his keen sense of smell.
Additionally, he enjoys chewing on toys, which keeps him entertained and mentally stimulated.
Thor is incredibly affectionate and thrives on human company
Above all, Thor cherishes being close to his humans, relishing the warmth, companionship, and affection they provide. When it comes to interacting with humans,. He is gentle and patient, especially with toddlers and children, making him an ideal companion for families.
Thor has been fostered with a two-year-old child, so he is accustomed to being around young children, provided they are supervised and dog-savvy.
Thor needs to be welcomed inside the home as a true member of the family, where he can be part of everyday life and share in the love and activities of his human companions.
In terms of obedience and training, Thor is a very quick learner, thanks to his strong motivation for food. He already knows commands such as “Sit,” “Stay,” “Lie down,” and “Heel.” Impressively, he became crate-trained in just three days. However, Thor does have a tendency to pull on the lead when he is determined, especially if another dog is around. Otherwise, he walks well on a lead, so he will benefit from consistent training and perseverance in this area.
He responds exceptionally well to structured routines, which help him feel secure and confident. Thor’s social skills with other animals are equally impressive.
He loves the company of other dogs, and currently living with a boarder collie. While he may bark at dogs outside, it is purely out of excitement, so continued training will help him manage this behavior. Thor would love a home with another female dog, but he would also be fine as an only dog, as long as he receives plenty of attention and companionship from his human family.
When it comes to independence, Thor is capable of settling himself after exercise and enjoys napping during the day, especially when he has people or another dog nearby.
He is so adaptable and easygoing and loves being included as part of the family.
Thor’s love for food is evident in his eating habits. He is not fussy at all and will eat just about anything, making him very food-motivated and highly trainable. He can sometimes look up on the bench to see what he can find, so a watchful eye is needed to ensure he doesn’t help himself to any unattended snacks.
In terms of hygiene, Thor is clean and easy to care for, with no fuss when it comes to grooming or basic handling.
He sleeps soundly for 10 to 12 hours in his crate overnight and enjoys taking naps after his walks.
When it comes to car travel, Thor is exceptionally gentle and well-mannered. He travels calmly without any fuss, making him an ideal companion for road trips and adventures.
Thor loves his daily walks, especially when he gets to indulge in his favorite activity of sniffing. While he is not overly play-driven, he does enjoy chewing on robust dog toys. He can be a bit cheeky and steal things like shoes if left lying around He needs daily exercise within a consistent routine to keep him happy and healthy.
Inside the home, Thor is calm, well-behaved, and loves being indoors. He needs a home that will include him as a true family member, where he can be part of the daily activities and share in the love and companionship of his human family.
He is ready to embark on a new journey with a loving family who will provide him with the care and attention he deserves.
Thor’s ideal home is one where he will be welcomed indoors, provided with consistent routines, and continued training for his lead and social interaction.
Thor is dog social, so he would love a female friend but is also able to be an only dog. With patience, structure, and love, Thor will become an outstanding lifelong friend, bringing joy and happiness to his new family. Thor has shown calm around kids, so we would consider younger kids as long as they are dog-savvy and adults have had recent dog experience with larger breeds.
It is important to note that no apartment living will be considered for Thor, as he needs space to roam and play freely.
