About Socks 🤍🖤
🖤🤍 Meet Socks! 🤍🖤
This gorgeous black and white girl got her name from her adorable little white paws that look just like socks!
Socks is playful, cheeky and endlessly curious, but over time she's also become much calmer and more settled in herself. She's learning to be a bit of a lap cat (on her terms!), and while she's still proudly independent, she's discovered that a bit of human affection can be pretty nice too.
When she’s not busy zooming around or showing off her playful side, Socks enjoys curling up near a sunny window or heater to soak up the warmth. She also loves a good perch in a high spot where she can keep an eye on everything happening around her. In the evenings, she’s happy to snuggle into her own bed or join you on yours if she’s invited.
Socks has lovely manners, a playful spirit, and a big heart that’s sure to fill your home with joy and laughter.
Socks prefers to be the only cat in the home, as she doesn't enjoy the company of other cats.
Socks can occasionally become overstimulated during play and may give a warning nibble or swipe if she's feeling a bit too excited. She doesn't enjoy being picked up, and for this reason we believe she would be best suited to a home without young children.
If you're looking for an easy-going girl, Socks is ready to bring happiness, warmth, and endless entertainment to her forever family.
Medical notes
Socks has Feline Lower Urinary Tract Disease (FLUTD). It’s a manageable lifelong condition that affects the bladder and can make peeing uncomfortable during flare-ups. Most cats with FLUTD live completely normal lives with simple management such as a specialised urinary diet, access to plenty of fresh water, and a calm/stress-free home.
Adopters will just need to keep an eye on her litter tray habits and seek vet care if she ever seems to strain or can’t pass urine. She’s otherwise healthy, happy and able to live a full, normal life with the right care.
Adoption details
All animals adopted through Out of the Woods Rescue are desexed, vaccinated, microchipped, flea/worm treated and health-checked. We aim to match each animal with a home that suits their needs and personality.
Here’s how our adoption process works:
Submit an application – This helps us get to know you, your household and what you're looking for in a pet.
Phone chat – If your application looks like a potential fit, one of our team members will contact you for a casual phone conversation to answer questions and discuss the animal in more detail.
Meet and greet – You’ll meet the animal in their foster home or another agreed location. If everyone agrees it’s a good match, we can proceed to adoption.
Adoption paperwork and payment – Our adoption fees cover desexing, microchipping, vaccination and parasite treatment.
Once adopted, the animal becomes part of your family. We're still here for post-adoption support if you ever need any help.
We’re committed to ethical adoptions and reserve the right to decline applications if we feel the match isn’t in the best interest of the animal.
